Tried the search but found nothing I know I have seen some on this inthe past.Have flown this plane often but after some repairs to nose flew it yeaterday and made emergency landing appeared to be tail heavy,Hanging on prop very unstable couple stalls had to roll out of scary flight.Repaired damage and checked balance seems OK.Thrust on engine is approx.0 wonder if shouldn't put in some downthrust thought was supposed to have that?Plans don't say anything about angle when on floats! If it is any different.Ideas would be appreciatted.Thanks.

Don't change the thrust angles to fly with floats. Maybe...but just maybe, you could get by with a little less downthrust on floats but any drag lower would be offset by the lift from the nose of the floats.

Goldberg Cubs are sooo much like Eagles, and those have about 5 degrees down and 3 degrees right.

Are you SURE the plans don't show downthrust????

Jim;Thanks for the reply!Have to admit haven't seen the plans for some time memory may be faulty although can't believe that could happen.High probability that left the washers out from behind the mount that would have added some of these thrust angles. As when you mentioned that I seem to remember they were there and there are none now. Will make these changes and try again as it used to fly well. You mentioned the Eagles just picked up 2 partially built ones from a fellow Sunday at the Float Fly.One set of foam floats too.How are they on floats?Learned on one and was sure a nice flyer although it was no stunt ship! Both of these have the wings bare but glued together with the Dihederal in them.Think it would be worth the effort to break that joint and flatten out the wing?Neither has ailerons installed but think will make that change also. Thanks Bob Moodie

Most trainers are great on floats, and I have no suspicion that an Eagle would be otherwise.

I would be very tempted to make the wing flat, and definitely add ailerons. If the wing is already built, I think I would just bandsaw down the middle, true up the joint, and lay in a new dihedral brace. Maybe lose 1/4" of the span.

The flat wing and ailerons would make it much more manageable to taxi. My most frequent horrifying moments with 3-channel planes come at takeoff. You can avoid that with ailerons.
