I enjoyed Jetpower as usual. Great meeting old friends & meeting new ones ( Hi Big Plumbs) & getting some good bargains. The Ali & Sandor double act gave me some good deals . Deals were in short supply this year, I was particularly disappointed in Carf. Last year they offered 25% off the Flash. This year, nothing on anything. You would think in the current economic climate, some effort at attracting buyers would be made. As a result, I hear many traders did not do much business. Many show models were left unsold. Usually they are snapped up quickly.

Winnie as usual organised the event with his usual precision, except for one big problem. How does he expect two toilets to service thousands of people. I went behind a hanger, only to find it crowded with people relieving themselves. Either sell less beer, or provide decent toilet facilities.

My first Jet Power and I came home completely amazed at the stunning quality of the jets, the standard of the flying and the outstanding organisation of the event. I will certainly go to Jet Power 2012.

Just before the event I pulled the trigger on one of Red Leader Composites lovely Tazor 100's. Hopefully this will be ready to maiden sometime in October with a Stumax SM100-45 running on 12S 5000's. Of course I was particularly interested in the Tazor flights at Jet Power, so too this video to remind myself over the next few weeks of what I have to look forward to.

This is a P60 powered Tazor 100 flown by Dave Wilshere of Motors and Rotors.

Jim

I Very Very much agree on the toilet comment. I had a very nice plate of currywust and chips and suffice to say that 2 hours later I was in a que 3 times over with very bad guts (Not the foods fault more my constitution). Standing in line for so few toilets is no fun........... There needs to be at least 3 times as many especially on the Sat

Dennis (Guts are better now )

Carl, the Merlin35 was on display at Gaspers, he was suggesting around April/May time for possible availablity but wanted to make sure he was 100% before it was released - he was very positive in terms of what he hoped for power wise, also over the 250K rpm level now too so its going to be a real scorcher.

Sorry no pics of the M346, looked OK but was a little rushed in terms of finish etc but a nice subject matter though.

C&C Models M346 was very nice can be fitted with two turbines or one, both hardware included for mounting. Turbine access at the top where it should be and has been made from original factory drawings so the scale outline is perfect. I thought the colour scheme they had looked very smart.
It will be coming with electric retracts and brakes with the same control unit also looking after the doors which is fully programmable so no air tanks, valves or pipes needed anywhere.

Would have to disagree with Marc as can be seen from the pics above I thought finish for a prototype was excellent, with perfect fitting surfaces, hatch's etc.

Bruno is the man to speak to and deal with he speaks English.

Carl,

The C&C models 'dealer' is in Leeds and I think it was him that brought the little Eurofighter to Elvington a while back. I'm not sure if he holds stock or just takes your order and the model drop-ships from Italy. I have emailed C&C direct and their english is ok and they responded quite quickly. I'm not sure if you saw the Euro but I wasn't too impressed with the finish. It was exceptionally light but so much so that you could see the weave of the cloth in the surface.

http://www.mdhaviation.co.uk/cc-models.html

There looks to be some things lurking in the photos that haven't been mentioned. There is a black F3A looking jet in one of them that looks pretty cool. Is that the little Pirotti Tuono in the photos too?

Global Jet Club are agents for C&C Models in UK and elsewhere. I can help you with info as it becomes available. First production models are expected around Feb next year. There are some production issues to be addressed in the meantime.

well , fortunately we found some spare changes in our pockets and managed to pay airport parking and drove our selves back home.!!! apart from buying  anything that i needed or not i also paid FEJ the rest of the amount left from my recent purchase an F16 1/6 with my choice of color as per picture, and all of a sudden when i was thinking of what smoke pump to install on this a/c i noticed the stand next to powerbox was full of smoke. well it was a demo of their electrically operated smoke system. then i imagined the picture attached and said to myself ..''Nik this is what you need''  http://www.smokeel-shop.de/epages/62501891.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62501891/Categories/SmokeAnlagen.....a fair offer for a twin ready to operate system at 595euro and 3ltr of red oil free thought its a good deal....i just need to see the battery needed for this to operated and will decide...

Darren,

From the pictures the M346 looks alot better than the little euro did, the big Pirotti Tuono is also another model that i really like but i don't think i would get it up into my work shop, having said that if the fin and stabs are not removable on the M346 i won't get that up my stairs to the workshop either.

Oh and you missed a great day at Elvington yesterday

Andy,

When you do get some more info on the M346 if you could let me know i would be greatful,

Hi Colin,

It was great meeting you, specially after the 1000 mails we exchanged.
Just reached home around 3 hours ago with most of the Indian contingent , the responsibility was mine to fly the guys back home safe from Brussels to Mumbai.
Always a great show from Winnie and team, will be there 2012.

Chatty.

Had a great time chatting to everybody, particularly Captain Makhija and co. from the Indian contingent. Even the English visitors seemed pretty well behaved . Thank you to Winnie and the team for such a well organised and safe show, and thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand.

Still on a high - roll on JP 2012

I would deal direct with Bruno at C&C models, I made the mistake of buying my MB339 through the apparent UK dealer, which turned into a catalogue of events and now won't return emails.
Was unaware about Global also looking after C&C models in UK whom would be a much better outfit to deal with.

the toilets where ok , i guess the 25 cents was the big issue?

Rob,

It was called 'Inception' and was EDF powered. Looked to be a full carbon molded model. I THINK it was designed to primarily fly F3A type schedules. Looked good in the air.

I've seen the demo and what I can say is that is impressive ! Would be cool for a wing tip smoke system !

But some thing to deal with :
- Need 6S lipo accu to power it (heavy)
- "eat" 1Amp for 1 minut of smoke (internal burner need to be electricaly heated to 800°C), so need hi capacity accus (heavy)
- no more of 25-30 second of full smoke power (oil cool down the heater so lost of smoke capacity) but continous smoke could be attained with moderate smoke.

I've not see thios sytem installed on a jet with high velocity to see if smoke is enough dense. This system is created for big electric propelled IMAC style airplane.

But indeed, it's cool for a wingtip installation... Very impressive.
