Status: offline 		Thanks for that. I'll let you know what I decide on the rudder. Keep building I need some more ideas. I am looking at using BVM tank fittings on the three fuel tanks.

Status: offline 		Thats what I use on these tanks. I think its Dreamworks or Airpower that do aluminium surrounds that the BVM fittings sit into.

Status: offline 		Does anyone have any photos of the inside of the speed brake housing? I've searched but all the walk round photo sets I've found have the speed brakes closed.

Status: offline 		While working on the back end I thought it was a good time to add some scale(ish) detail to the speedbrake recesses. I've recently done this to a large F86 It was however pre built and painted from D4S, for something relatively simple it really added an extra dimension to that model so I decided to do the same on my A4 but this time it would have to be scratch built.


First off I made a plate out of light 1/16 ply which was boxed in. Small beads of epoxy were applied around all the joints with a syringe and some small bore air-tubing. This gave the base for adding a bit of detail.

Status: offline 		The only problem using ply is that if raised rivets were added it would look like painted wood with rivets on. I could have used some proskin for an instant finish but the thicknesses I had were heavier than the ply and the really thin stuff wasn't usable alone. I could line the box with thin proskin but would still have to add the rivets then paint it all aluminum then red and finally weather it adding more weight in the wrong place.

I decided to make litho plate panels and press the rivets in from the underside making raised rivets then burnish the whole thing. Here's where I'm up to...a few more details to add and it will be ready for paint.

Status: offline 		I wasn't originally planning on doing the inside of the speed brakes, but after I saw you do yours and then looked at that gaping hole, it was a no brainer. I am going the heavier route with lite ply and G-10 (proskin).
I still need to sand the hole and the slit was to get it on and off while I was fitting it, with out messing with the clevis. The G-10 on top will elimate that, and make a "cleaner" cylinder hole.
I will start the rivets this weekend.

Glad your finding it useful Pete.

This is the last I'll do for a few weeks now... I've finished off the speed brake detail, I decided to risk cutting the circles out on the speed brake and its worked well. The speed brakes have been primed so its onto making the equipment trays in the front when I have some more spare time. I may get time to spray the gear which has to be my least favorite job of all but will see how my other stuff goes.

Status: offline 		I did have a good look at doing slats but the internal structure of the wing makes it difficult so I decided not to bother for the time being. If when I fly it I feel it could benefit from slats I might have another look but doubt it as I hear they are superb to fly.

You need to restart this build! I need some ideas how to cram the fuel tanks, the air tanks, a powerbox, EV5U, 2 EV2u's, and oh yeah all the turbine "stuff" in this A4.
For a big jet there "ain't" a lot of space in it.

Hey Pablo, how about some recon pictures inside that blue angel A4 of yours? Stop holding out and hook a brother up!

Status: offline 		This A4 build was a whole easier when all I had to do was follow the Alex build manual. I tackled mounting the nosewheel stearing cylinder. I didn't follow the Skymasters set up in the "manual", I used a BVM smooth stop mount I had laying around and............ voila! I haven't decided on how I am going to mount this down yet........
PS> This was a lot of fun putting together with the cylinder still attached to the airlines inside the fuse.
