Jon,

I'll have to miss "again" this year. I'll be in China on a business trip and my flight does not return to Dallas until mid-day Saturday.

I hate missing this contest because you guys always rock it!  And the weather this time of the year is awesome.

Best of luck and have a great one.

Keith B.

Some really nice handouts for each contestant are being finalized, and the award plaques came out really nice. I think the desire to win one  of these will make the competition top notch. Along with the awsome dinners for all contestants and their families which will have entertainment (I'm told Jon has arranged for a comedian to perform at the Saturday night dinner), and the Rice Festival being held this same week end offering a great time for those not totally dedicated to flying, this event promises to be a great family function. Don't miss out on the event everyone will be talking about. The flying site is in great condition, and the crawfish field around the flying site has been laser leveled and is currently dry as a bone and free of water.

If you like competiting against some of the best pattern pilots, enjoying great competition, associating with friendly people, enjoying some of the best cajun food, and having interresting & enjoyable distractions for the family to experience you'll want to make this event. Drag your fellow club members along, they will thank you for recommending it.

Just thought I wouldn let everyone know that the closest place to get a room is Lafayette 20 miles away! Who does the "Rice Festal" think they are scheduling on our Pattern Weekend!
I found a good rate at the Days Inn [Looks New] for $43.86 a night. their number is 337-769-8000!

This year will be worth the drive just for the food alone. Not only will we have "catfish courtbouillon" for Saturday night, we have added fried catfish!! For entertainment we have "Ed Roy" a funny Cajun comedian.

If you are driving from Texas, please try the hotels in Jennings, LA. It's only 15 miles from the field.

Please come out and enjoy our event and share a few smiles with us

Gregg, It's interstate all the way, easy drive and worth the 5 hr trip. Hope to see you there. Bring the family, we strive to make it a family event, and they'll enjoy the Rice Festival.

I spoke to Chris, she's making a big batch of her almost famous bannana pudding.
Not sure which I'm more excited about, the flying or the food, yum.

If it get's better then that we couldn't stand it. Winds are predicted to be 0 to 5 knots from the south Friday and Saturday, 5-10 knots on Sunday. This may turn out to be the first contest I make that doesn't have gail force winds blowing the entire time.

He's a 7 yr old FAI phenom, flies an Oxai Triplane with counter-rotating props...and he's hungry.
