Dear all,

I have a simple proposition to put to you.

It has been suggested that the needs of the members and the fora concerned would be better served by merging the 1/8th Buggy Forum with the 1/8th Truggy forum, and naming the new forum "1/8th Electric and Nitro Buggies, Truggies and more..." in line with the current forum naming convention. This is due to the fact that both of these forums are somewhat quiet lately, and that the cars themselves share the vast majority of their architecture and drivers/enthusiasts. We hope this will encourage an increased volume of discussion as well as forming a central repository for these essentially similar racing classes.

Please indicate your feelings on this matter by voting in the poll!

Thanks, your feedback is important to us.

Regards,

Foxy.

Why not?.. Though if anything I can imagine keeping electric and nitro separate, and just having a 1/8 offroad nitro and 1/8 offroad electric...

There are other things in the works for the other forums, including consolidating them properly and filling in a few gaps. As many people have observed, there is no clear distinction where Short Course trucks go at the moment, that will be remedied. There is also no forum at all for 1/10th nitro off road!! This will also be fixed. The result will probably be something like this...

1/10th Nitro On road vehicles and more...
1/10th Electric On road vehicles and more...
1/10th Nitro Off road Short Course trucks, Stadium Trucks, Buggies and more (this will contain all posts fro mthe current almost dead nitro stadium trucks forum)
1/10th Electric Off road Short Course trucks, Stadium Trucks, Buggies and more
1/8th buggies and truggies and more (the subject of this poll)

And (shock horror), we are probably going to put merging the monster truck forums (yes all of them into one super MT forum) to the vote soon too, since only the traxxas and HPI forums can justify their traffic. We realise that will create hte classic traxxas/hpi friction, and it will be up to the mods to stamp that out, which we will be ready for. It's time the community grew up a bit in this respect.

Merge them.

As you've said about the MT friction, you may find you'll have to monitor the "nitro v electric' campaigners though.

My 2 fills worth...

Whatever.. If nitro dies, RC dies - or at the very least will be left to the small niche of the few incompetent and lazy types who couldn't figure out how to tune a nitro engine(or buy something other than a Traxxas RTR..), who got fed up with the rocket science that is nitro RC ( )and went off to play with their glorified toy cars - i.e. electric, so everything got diluted. Weeee... Whoosh. Whoosh. (Twirls thumbs while watching action movie on mute....)

Merging buggy and truggy is fine.  I would not favor merging nitro and electric.

It will be 1/8th buggies and truggies, regardless of power source. Electric 1/8th buggies up to now, could have gone in here or in electric off road. Their official place will be here. This forum needs to see some traffic.

Oooh, that could cause alot of Nitro- Electro wars. It already gets bad enough when idiots say Nitro is dieing. Nitro is what keeps this hobby running.
Merg it and screw up a perfectly good site. Or you could just chill a bit when things get out of hand.

I don't think the benefits offered are outweighed by a few immature people who think apples are better than oranges.

It was a blanket statement, not aimed at anyone.

I like the the buggies merged with truggies 1/8 class idea etc. Stadium truck with buggies 1/10 etc. Short course by its self. (don't even own one) All monster type trucks merged together a little healthy bragging traxxas vs hpi etc can be liven up things as long it is kept under control.

I would like to see the power sources seperate but i realize that there is just not enough traffic to do so.

Are all of the other rc car/truck sites this dead lately?

I have been a faithful user of rcuniverse for probably 5 plus years.

Do what you got to do i trust you!!!

I wouldn't mind a truggy/buggy merge considering they are so similar, however i would separate nitro/electric. many questions about electric always pop up about what charger to use, what batteries to use, what esc to use, what motor to use, should i run 6s, should i convert nitro to electric, my esc is to hot, my motor is too hot, im getting lots of cogging, interference is bad....ect. that goes along with that power method, nitro on the other hand you can tell the guys to check out the engine board.

plus your going to have flame wars electric Vs. nitro. "na mah's bettur nuhuh mine's betta, no ya' two ma's the bestist"

I could be a mod, I have seen all the patterns but i think RCU wouldn't be happy about all the banned members

by the way Traxxas should be a forum in it's self and should stay like that, the company is huge, the "fan boyz" usually will flame the tar out of anyone who raises a word against Traxxas. its cult like i tell ya.

traxxas forum;

-traxxas MT
-Traxxas Slash
-Traxxas 1/16
-Traxxas hop ups.
-Traxxas on-road.

Lol shark... It's so true tho.

If it was up to me I would Simplify

Merge drifting, electric on road and nitro onroad
Because a lot of the nitro, electric and drift cars share chassis/suspension parts, wheels and bodies. The suspension tuning is the same
The only real difference is the motors... Keep the Rc car engine but rename it to nitro engine support, and create 2 other support forums for gasser motors and brushless setups. That would get some to the traffic away from the general Discusion and electric off road with people asking about, what motor, what esc, LVC, what batteries, ect.

Maby not to sure on this part but...

RC Car Videos
RC Related General Discussions
1/16, 1/18, Mini, Micro Vehicles Electric and Nitro
1/8, 1/10 Touring, Drift, Rally, Drag, Pan Cars Electric and Nitro
Off Road Monster Trucks, SCT, Buggies, Truggies and Stadium, Crawlers Trucks Electric
Off Road Monster Trucks, SCT, Buggies, Truggies and Stadium Trucks Nitro
Giant Scale 1/5 pluss Vehicles, On and Off Road
Classic/Vintage Vehicles, On and Off Road
Nitro, Gas Engine Support/Discusion, Tuning, Rebuilding, filters, etc
Electric System Support/Discusion, Motors, ESC, batteries, connectors, chargers etc
Radio System Support/Discusion, New and Old
Wheels and Tyre support/Discusion, dying, gluing, bead locks, compounds
Painting, Detailing and Acessories to RC bodies
Rc Tanks, Earth Movers, Prime Movers

IMO this would get the pede guys closer to the Slash and rustler threads, get the summit guys in there with the crawlers... Same with some other brands. There has been guys turning SCT into buggies, there has been truggies turned into Monster trucks, monster trucks turned into crawlers, Stadium trucks turned into biggies and LCG SCT,s generally those style of chassis share parts

Guys feel Free to use this as a template, if Foxy does not mind have a play with it
