t9dragon -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/15/2011 6:12 PM)

Personally, I got the mini I have been waiting for in the Savage XS. But this one looks good to.

Foxy -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/15/2011 6:22 PM)

That losi does indeed look very interesting, though the motor looks rather small. It has a tough act to follow (my Xray M18T pro)

minimadster -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/15/2011 6:27 PM)

The smallish looking motor is because they are still using 1/18th scale electronics, but it is a 1/14th scale buggy

t9dragon -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/15/2011 7:01 PM)

From the looks of the battery included with the buggy. It is using smaller electronics

Here is a pic of the motor.

Picture of the ESC. It is the same esc that is used in the 1/16 SCT

Yes, exactly. That's not good. At all. Oh well, keep trying losi, you've yet to make something that interests me in the slightest. [&o]

minimadster -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/15/2011 8:52 PM)

i cant wait to see a big block conversion, then it would be perfect

sheograth -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/16/2011 2:51 AM)

Small stock electronics it may have, but if it handles like an 8ight it should be good.

Why should we wait for a big block conversion? Losi should have done it right the first time...

minimadster -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/16/2011 5:30 PM)

it does seem to have a 1/10th scale servo, im not really worried about it using the 1/18th electrics. From the amount of power that comes from them, there is gonna be plenty of power. Who knows, maybe losi tried the 1/10th scale electronics and decided that it was too much weight, it doesnt looking any bigger than a mini revo or slash, and they both use the smaller electronics too

neiloid -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/23/2011 9:55 PM)

Wow, way to go slagging a product that's not even released yet !

Looks good from the video - speed, handling and stable in the air.

This is the best looking mini Losi have produced period and it should be a performer if they have scaled down the Eight.

Ther servo is the servo from the MRC, so not mini and not 1/10th either.

Loads of info on the Mini

Thomas P -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (9/24/2011 7:07 PM)

Cant see the idea of a bigblock for this car?? Im runing the carisma GT14B since Feb ant they are the same dimension , alomst same weigt and on STOCK electronics and it is sick fast and stays good in heat. And the Losi use a Carisma ESC..ran today with my car 13 min race tempo 65 celsius on motor geared 16!/70

+1 Using them in a 1/14 vehicle stresses those already poor 1/18 electronics even further. Looks to me like their trying to compete with Traxxas's 1/16 cars. With Traxxas, though, everything they touch turns to gold.[8|]

Since they haven't released any actual specs on the included BL system there's no way to tell if it's 20mm 1/18th scale sized motor, or a 380-sized motor (novak mongoose or castle 3600 series) that would power it just fine. No need for a "big block."
The other thing is while they're calling it a 1/14th scale, like the carisma 14b did, it's actually more 1/16th scale or similar in wheelbase to the mini-revo or duratrax vendetta sc.

My only issue is that Losi is a good 3 years LATE in releasing it, as the entire mini craze has died here in the U.S.

Thomas P -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/6/2011 7:02 PM)

it is NO 20mm can at all...same size as the Novak (mayeb a few mm longer) so as the above gent said, there is no need for a BB conversion for it. Carisma have a 6800 rpm motr same size, IF there is not enough speed :)

rschoi_75 -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/18/2011 1:38 AM)

The more I see this the more I want it. I don't really care about the electronics since I plan to steal them from one of my old vendetta's.

Thomas, so you think an old permax 4d (28mm motor) + sidewinder micro will be ok in this? That's what have in my vendetta right now. Also, is there any chance you can get a pic of your carisma next to a shark w/ sc chassis?

gforce2448 -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/18/2011 5:23 AM)

I am really interested in this Losi buggy as well. Really love the looks of it. I went to my lhs today to see if they had or were getting any as I want to see it in person. I thought the release was today or this week? They are going to call me when they do do get them in.

Rcforme... -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/18/2011 12:33 PM)

Looks great, but I'l wait for a Mini 8ight-T. :)

Hi cant see any problem with that combo, but the stock is real nice. BUT, the good thing in this hobby, you can decide what you want in them :)

No i am sorry i can not do that, since i do not own a Shark/MB4 SC.

But this one, is just a few mm wider (app 3 on each side)

Wheelbase is 186-190mm..

:)

rschoi_75 -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/20/2011 6:44 PM)

Thanks either way Thomas. Much appreciated.

I think I'm going to have to get this.

gforce2448 -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/20/2011 7:51 PM)

I thought these would be available already. My lhs didn't have any but they are going to call me as soon as they get some in. I am considering getting one of these buggies as well. They look awesome! I am looking for something else to be used at the local track and this would be perfect. But, I first one to see one in person and check it out thoroughly.

gforce2448 -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/21/2011 5:11 AM)

Originally these were do in stores Oct. 17th. Now I see Nov. 7th. Argh!! lol

truckstalk -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (10/22/2011 5:33 PM)

the date will be pushed out again, probly Nov 25ish

gforce2448 -> RE: The mini everyone has always wanted, losi 1/14th 8ight (11/3/2011 4:47 AM)

Got a call from my lhs today saying they got the Mini 8ight in. I will have to get over there this week to check it out. Not sure when I can afford one but I will at least see if it's worth it. Maybe a Xmas present for myself?
