All,

Currently I only have one firm comittment for the race and one if he's not working. At this point I am planning on cancelling the race if more people do not commit. I will leave it open for a couple more days to see if interest picks up.

Don, this is strange. There should be enough guys just in the Alvin and Texas City clubs to put on a race. I hope the Club 40 event isn’t dying; just when I’m at the top of my game. There must be a lot of young guys out there that can’t wait to beat this old guy, but on the other hand, there may be some that are afraid of being beat by an old man.

If you must cancel the event, just send me the 1st, 2nd and third place trophies. Don’t save them for another event because thumb suckers don’t deserve trophies.

From Georgetown you will have Ken Hopson, Gary Fisher, Mike Fisher and me. I think several of the Waco guys are planning to be there. But they will have to speak for themselves.

I’m as frustrated as you are, because I’ve been burning a lot of practice fuel.

I thought about just sending you the trophies and letting you guys put on an abbreviated event. Two of the guys in our club will not be racing. One will be out of town and the other does not have a plane to race. I have not heard from any of the Alvin guys. I will wait a couple of days to make my decision.

Come on you Texas guys,.....give Don a reply back and help him put one one heck of a race !!!
Lets all not forget, it wont be long until winter comes and then we will have to wait until the spring thaw next year to race again, so you'd better get your Club40 swerve on while you can!!
Ante up and yall put on a good show!!!!
If I was closer I would certainly come out and get it on with all of yall.

Don,

I'll ask at the field on Saturday, the normal club racers will be there at our Warbird FlyIn.  I'm uncommmited at this point for personal reasons, but will try to make it, if things work out.

Hey Don, The Waco bunch are all planning on comming. Hope you don't have to cancel. Some of us went down to George town just to check up on OLD BOB and see what tricks he was planing on bringing. We had a great day of practice. There should be at least 5 and maybe more from Waco.

Jim

Jim,

We are looking good for a race next Saturday. I just needed to make sure we had enough competitors. Sounds like at least 4 from the Georgetown area and 4 or 5 from the Waco area. With the Texas City guys and the Alvin guys, we should be in good shape. Looking forward to good weather and good competition.

Don, after an all day trip to Midland for the Confederate Air Force show on Friday and the fact that I'm on call at work Saturday and Sunday, I will still try to make it. I would hate to miss out on the whoopin that
Bob is going to get..........by me . Pylon racing is strong in Waco and I would hate to miss it.

Not gun’a happen. I found a new prop. A 4.5 X 23.5 five bladed DF. I’m now turning my worn out engine at 26,000 rpm. An’t nobody gun’a catch me. But by all means, try! It’s no fun racing alone.

Well I took the blade out of and old Kitchenaid blender, and now the engine is at 28k, plus it eats balsa like a fat kid at a cake buffet. This is gonna be "Death Race 2011"

Richards got some new secret wepons 4.5 X 8.6 3 blade hook tipped APC carbon fiber.

And I just got my e "stock" engine back from Vipper products and it is supposed to be able to turn a 10.5 X 4.5 at 28,000 RPM.

Both of us are having trouble with flutter and the covering staying on.

Don, we need the T&M mix during registration and a few more at lunch. If you time the booze just right we will be straight enough to drive home after I get my first place and fast time trophies.

I doubt Skully will let us use his Sky Blender before the race starts. There's a chance it will be available after the first heat though.

That wind is going to be right in our face. I can foresee lots of mishaps coming out of Pylon 2 pushing planes toward the pit and pilot area. Hate to say it, but this is really not a good idea.

Don; as CD it’s your call. I have been in your shoes a few times and the CD must make the decision. You know the Galveston weather better than we hicks here in Georgetown. Is your weather man mostly correct or mostly wrong? Do we stay home; or drive for four hours with the possibility of either sitting around and talking or racing. I will feel good with whatever decision you make.
