Status: online 		Thanks Dave. Keep us advised on the parts. I could use some canopys for a F104 and the F20. Maybe he would like to set up a distribution entity in the US for plans and plastics.

Status: offline 		OK. So now back to the F-20. Had a pipe left over from a Yellow Starfire that never got used. Cut it down with a dremel tool with cutoff wheel. Then made L shaped brackets from the cutoff piece.

Status: offline 		Wheels and brakes came in. Made a combination engine/ pipe mount and worked to get it lined up and true to the plane.

Status: offline 		Didn't like mounting the pipe under the motor mount so I added a doubler to put the screws in from the top. Will also give more for the engine mounting screws to go into.

Status: offline 		Started digging out the mounts for the retracts. Used dimension from the plans and made a starter hole with a dremel tool and sanding drum. Then made the hole bigger until I could determine where I was at. Saves making the wheel opening for last. Retracts are Spring Air 5/32 wire struts. I ordered 3/16 but received 5/32. Oh well. I am sure they will work.

Status: offline 		The front retract was more difficult. Since I wanted to use the sigle side steering version, the rails are higher. This created an interference with the servos and the wheel when retracted. Had to relocate the retract twice before finding a position that didn't interefere. It is close but it will work.

Status: offline 		Thanks Glenn. Opened up the bulkhead to fit a 24 oz Kavan fuel tank. Used a dremel tool with a sanding drum.

Status: offline 		Used a piece of balsa to act as a support for the tank to keep it from tilting down in the back. The air tank will go above the tank and keep it from tilting up in flight.

Status: offline 		Added a plywood support for the back of the pipe to attach to. Glued in with 20 min epoxy. The screw is a #4 wood screw and washer. Redrilled the screw holes for the front tabs of the pipe so the #4 screws tighten from the top. The three screws hold the pipe very well. No additional support should be needed.

Status: offline 		Made a support for the air valve from a plastic control horn. Mounted it to the servo rails and connected it with 1/16 wire to the servo control horn. Started plumbing the air lines to the retracts.

Status: offline 		Ran the airlines to the retracts. Kept them tucked in and out of the way by drilling small holes to run the lines through. Had to add one restictor in the line to slow the retracts.

Status: offline 		Drilled the clearance hole for the steering wire through the bulkhead by hand. Couldn't get in there with a drill. Pretty tight. Started with a 1/16 then opened up to a 3/16. Soldered a threaded coupler onto a 1/16 wire. This will be the end that attaches to the retract steering arm.

Status: offline 		Added a brass piece to act as a guide for the steering rod. Put a few bends in the rod to make it move smoothly from the servo.

Status: offline 		Used some filler balsa around the exhaust nozzle to give more surface to glue the sheeting to. Sanded smooth with the last bulkhead and exhaust tube.

Status: offline 		Glued on some scrap balsa to act as a ledge for the 3/32 strips cut from sheet. A wider sheet just didn't want to wrap around the nozzle very well. Started gluing on the 3/32 strips.
