I think we are the only country that eats (both) the animals on its coat of arms.

I lived and worked in various parts of SE Asia and a few other areas of the world for many years. Mice, Rats, Dogs, Cats, and all sorts of land, air and aquatic life that I didn't know the names of were available in food suppliers (no - I didn't try them all).

Be grateful you don't have a camel in that coat of arms. Taste like crap.

Doesn't that bear some similarity to jumping out of a perfectly good airplane?

That has never made any sense to me.

It didn't make sense to a lot of young men back in the 40's until the recruiter said "you get an $50.00 extra a month".

And some of them actually lived to spend it back then. Rough way to make $50.00 with that equipment. Thankfully things have significantly improved since then.

A quick story about a man I worked with at a hospital. He was with the 101st at the close of the war. They were testing different chutes. Yes back then the testing meant jumping out and see what happens.
When he jumped and looked up he saw panels missing and kissed his a***** goodbye. Everybody on the ground had a good laugh. They gave him a German chute and didn't tell him. Since he was able to tell me the story the chute worked and the US changed theirs to this design. Dennis

I was involved with a couple of skydiving clubs many years ago - I used to spend a large part of each day flying the jumpships and the rest of the time getting to jump out of them "for free" (in payment of my awesome piloting skills of course).

I have yet to come across a jumpship associated with one of those clubs that I would say was even remotely close to being a "good" airplane. Come to think of it - I used to breathe a sigh of relief to depart them. You know life is risky when your preflight check includes "Chute secured and ready for use"

BTW - that is one cool video Doug.

Sweeet!!! My 120 arrived today, nice looking engine. I see DA has changed their mufflers. I ordered it with a set of compacts and they are not like the DA mufflers of the past. I would swear they are having them manufactured by Slimline to their specs. The mufflers have no identifying marks on them but they are identical in construction to a set of Slimlines I have had for a few years that I had bought for a DL100.

Got My 120 installed and the TP tunnel finished. Almost ready to fire up.

Pat. Just a thought. Put tuned pipes on that Baby. It'll help with balancing the plane. Cans put most of your weight in front of the C/G where TPs put some of it behind. Weight is about the same.

Oh a Joey and an emu?  Oy!  You guys know the wiggles?  Kids musical group.  I will never forgive Australia for that. Been years since my kids stopped listening to that dribble but I can still hear the songs runing in my head.

I think theve branched out with some of the ol farts retireing , not that I give a **** . As long as you keep the simpsons coming all will be good . Just watched hommer builduing the BBQ eposode for about the 5th time and it just cracks me up . I think Im a cross between hommer and Ray Barone from Everybody Loves Raymond . Cheers

Fair enough, I was atually hoping that Taylor would be found to be a drug mule on her last visit to OZ and end up staying there ( Love the Aussie show "border security" or what ever the name is.  Cant beleive how polite a people are that evolved from prison population ).  Unfortunately as My daughter got over the wiggles craze she found Taylor.  Think I ust need to gouge out my ear drums and fly with a spotter to kick me when I go deadstick.

I actually had a fair bit of business transactions with the land down under in a prior company I had.  Just real bummed I never made the trip to your wonderful island.  Had a nice business account ship me some vegemite (sp?).  Straight into the bin after one taste.  YOU GOT TO BE JOKING that this brown axel grease sells.  They told me it was great on toast in the morining.  ****??  I think they were actually trying a hostile take over through poisoning!!!!  They could have been nice and sent some Australian Beer!
