Guys,

Is there anything to be wary of with the L39? Does it do anything particularly well or badly? Narrow track tend to cause issues? Is it like the Hawk where the larger versions fly better and are less tip stally?

Thinking of Skygate or TomaHawk L39....

Cheers
Mark

L39 's fly very well
I have flown lots of the small Savex ones, very nice no tip stall probs.

I think you will like it.

Hi Mark

I think you'll be pleased with either of those. My little Skymaster L39 is lovely to fly and to be honest it's a bit fat for it's size but still displays very good characteristics especially a the lower end of the speed range. I needed a gyro on the rudder to damp out it's tail wiggle at higher speeds. I'm sure they will both fly like kites, I'd go with the Skygate model as I think it's a better representation of the full size even with those massive air brake intakes . The larger Tomahwk design didn't do it for me on the scale front but impressive none the less.

Cheers, Alex

Mark, can only speak for the JL 1/5th but they fly very realisticly, slow down nicely and have great presence in the air
No vices unless you pull too much elevator in a banked turn in which case they will tuck the nose down, they like to be flown smoothly/scalelike.
Gary.

Hi Mark
you ask especially for Thomahawk or Skygate.
First of all; Skygate don't exist more.
But I know both, all of them has same characteristics the fly like big gliders, no bad habits.

Fritz,

Skygate Models were bought out by Comp-ARF so all of their models are now available from C-ARF! As a rep, that is why I am looking at pulling the trigger on the SG L39!

Thanks,
Mark

Hello friends:

I think Skygate is full scale, Tomahawk is a little more big, but not is perfect scale, also the kit not has instructions, yes I know when you buy and built one kit like this I think you have enought experience buiding jets, but it is really expensive and not has instructions, WHY ??????????

I guess Skygat has instructions, this is very important when you spend a lot of money in a jet and you need complete confidence that you're doing well.

Regards from Spain.

Carlos,

No instructions with the Skygate kits either - just a CD of some pictures!

Yes, Skygate (or Comp-ARF now) is full scale whilst the Tomahawk is less scale but bigger.

Do you have pictures of panel lines/rivets on the Tomahawk?

Cheers
Mark

Hi Mark, like Gary I also have the JL version, although mine is in the Breitling scheme, which I think looks the nuts, and also has the scale lighting system, you are always very welcome to come and view mine. (and the rest of the fleet )

Hi Fritz, love the paint booth and that gorgeous blue you are using, should look great!
cheers,

Vince.

Hey Mark,
Flew my Skygate L39 this week. Awesome flyer! I love it. Worked through some landing gear issues, but finally got it sorted out. No bad habits at all.
Very similar to the SG Hawk flying characteristics.
Do it!
Scott
