Ooohhhhh...check LB out...splashing it out in style!!

That hotel is the oldest continuously operating hotel in the US.

Also, home to the creation of Parker House Rolls and the Boston Cream Pie.

Emeril Lagasse started there as well.

power went out at about 4:50 this morning and came back at about 8:18. it was kinda funny how i found out, i was out side taking a leak and looking at the various buckets we have outside for one with water to flush the toilet and i look at the garage and the lights are on (my sister turned them on when she left last night). that made me think the fuses had blown and i was sitting in the dark for nothing. i looked in my shop window, those lights where on and then a looked into the kitchen window to see the light over the sink lit up. i had told my grandpa just before i went outside it would probably be on today, i had no idea i was that good at predicting stuff! the lotto numbers are 12-22-6-34-18-9! if you win, i get 5% under the table!( because 5% of 100,000,000 b/t is still a lot of money!)

It is pretty nice, but mostly due to the history / location.. in terms of how nice the room is? Not particularly..

Still very expensive, though.. but I am not the one paying for it.. ha ha.. My sister is in town for business, so we went to hang out with her for a couple of days..

Yeah, I am not paying almost-Bruiser-money-per-night for hotel room.. (that's indeed a money unit for Tamiya folks.. )

I am sure it has something to do with Boston Marathon being tomorrow too..

Nice hotel, I take it? Have fun in Boston! Too bad the Bruins lost in OT.

Better pics of the CR-01 and the terrain I mess around in. Bent links FTW! Nice weeds, eh?

OK Loungers, you're thoughts please....

Ipad 2
Mac Book Pro 17"
or....
don't bother and just use the current lap top I have?

Sister-in-law is heading to the States next week and she can get them there for almost 700 bucks less than what I'd pay for them here.

Cheers.

What kind of laptop do you have now and what do you usually do with it?!

I use my computer mostly just for e-mail / web nowadays.. so I don't really need a super computer...

(and I am cheap... )

The iPad is a cool device and all, but if you're looking to replace a PC or laptop, don't get an iPad to do it. For example, if typing on a real keyboard is something you'll need it for, it doesn't replace the feel of a real keyboard. It is perfectly fine for browsing the web though, and things like that.

I just know this from what I'm told - my wife has a windows laptop and an iPad, and loves the iPad - but it's not a replacement of the laptop. There is crossover on how they are used, but she really wants the laptop for some specific things (typing emails, which she does a lot of).

Other people's opinions will differ of course, but it's something to think on.

Either one (ipad or mac book) seem pretty sweet though.

Oh, and Happy belated birthday, Ttam!

iPad also can't do Flash, so even for web browsing, sometimes it is not great... cause you click on a Facebook video, and it says it is not supported..

But I do notice that a lot of the websites seem to slowly converting to use less Flash video? Maybe it is just my imagination.. or Apple does have strong market power!!

Yeah, pretty expensive.. but of course, I am not talking about list price.. but rather, street / after-coupon / best-deal-from-LB price..

Still very expensive for sure.. 3 nights = 4-digit bill..

I had some deals worked out with my dad, and now that he is moving out of state I practically own half the insides of his garage, tools I been trying to get since I was a boy. I wish I hit the lottery, then my list would be complete and i could have a bigger nicer garage haha Still need a 1/2 inch breaker bar, 1/2 inch drive sockets, sandblasting box, pipe bender, welder and a bigger air compressor. Oh, and a garage powered on 220 would be a godsend too. And some oxy-acetaline torches. Oooo I got some ways to go.....

I have an HP G61 Notebook, AMD Athlon II Dual Core M300 2.0 GHz, 3.0 GB Ram, 64-Bit operating system, running Windows Home 7 Premium.

The reason I'm thinking of the Mac is to be able to do some audio editing/production at home as well. Give my HP to my daughter.

Hmmmm...didn't know about the flash thingie....

Well, the flash thingy is just for the iPad. I think the macbook is just fine. I just wanted to point out that for my family, the iPad just isn't a laptop replacement - it's great...but doesn't replace it.
