Kind of interesting.. Corvette being so much wider, I'd guess they have to cut that down in the middle to make it work...

No, nothing like that would pass our quality inspection after every project we do. plus we don't use spray cans to do paintjobs

i just found one of the largest 6 cylinder engines i have heard of, and it was made in 1948. it's a 589CI (that's 9.65 liters!) flat 6 designed for the 1948 tucker sedan. it wasnt used for lack of funds and development. it was meant to drive 2 torque converters in lieu of a trans. idle was supposed to be 100 rpm and cruse speed of 250-1200 rpm. i would hate to know what it'd cost to fuel that behemoth.

interesting tidbit, i started out reading about the sturgis motorcycle rally on wiki and somehow got to looking at this and, even weirder, the Vanderbilt family...

Yeah, not that you would want to drive that on the street, but it is indeed DOT approved...

Nice rims anyway. I have been wanting to get new rims for the Hyundai. 14" ones. For two reasons... to get rid of the steelies, and have more tire options lol. Not interested in those big "donk" rims. It's a hyundai, not a Caddy. I do like BBS rism, but I will never have the mind to fork out the money for those. I tried 14" honda rims, but the bolt pattern was off

Yeah, bigger is not always better, yo!!

Performance cars often time need larger rims because they need the clearance for the larger brakes.. it is out of necessity...

Yeah a lot of 18" rims won't even fit on my car because of the brakes.

A set of Brembos would be hot as hell on the Hyundai, but way too much stopping power for the 2400lb car. I would never need all the power to stop it lol. One of these days, I'll own a car with 4-wheel disc brakes adn some actual rims instead of steelies.
