Twin Screw whipple. Love the sound of a super charger whine

Maybe I can add some Brembo pad covers to, eh?

No, I wasn't thinking about dropping thousands on the car, something more realistic. Probably just do some slight engine mods for a little extra HP, it already has enough for me.

I think that gets moved further down the list since I just lowered it and got the stiffer springs on, pretty pleased with the way it handles, and don't desire to go much lower around here, but someday for sure!

Best bang for the buck would be tires... some sticky tires will help the most..

For free "upgrade", just start removing junks from your car.. make it lighter.. once all the easy stuff are gone, then you can start removing carpets, etc.

Yeah maybe if I was racing it, but just fun stuff for normal driving since I don't have a desire to race this car. Probably going to install a new intake manifold or the like those have dynoed at another 10 hp or so. Or some high flow cats to make the exhaust sound nicer.

I'm more into dressing up the motor, rather than putting money into the motor so it performs. I have powedercoated my valve cover chevy engine red. I did it to my Oldsmobile Cutlass V6. Looked pretty good. I like the look of a nice chrome cold air intake, but to be honest my stock air box is more efficient. The location of the filter on the CAI sits right next to the block, not taking in any cold air. Atleast my stock air box has a scoop up front, it's almost like ram air. So I try to keep all the plastic nice and shiny looking lol

Yeah, but the manual coupes come with a really nice one stock, sounds aftermarket and loud already, so no need to change it out, and the nice catbacks already run closer to 2 grand so no thanks lol.

Was only asking because you are thinking about putting in new cat to improve the sound.. since usually it is usually cheaper and more effective to change out the muffler section than the cat.. (esp. w/ the cat you might have to deal w/ CEL issue)

But for sure, w/ some high flowing cats that will change the sound... !

Well a new catback is close to 2 grand and high flow cats are around 400, give a lot more performance gain (since aftermarket catback won't do anything).

But what cars do high flow cat's cause a check engine issue? They are all DOT approved and I have never heard of a problem. Maybe it's a car by car case, but no one gets check engine lights on the g35's.

There's obviously always trade offs.. higher flowing cats just means it has less cells in the cat and the senior in the after cat location sometimes would pick up the resulting composition that would trigger the CEL. (say stock is 400 cells, 200 cells are usually okay (when new), and 100 cells would most likely trigger CEL).. people do things to fool the car.. extended the sensor away from the exhaust flow.. some people leave the downstream sensor in the open air (probably not a great idea..).. and obviously, re-program the ECU.

I didn't mean to change the whole catback system. Maybe just change out the muffler section.

But yes, there's some performance to be gained from taking out the cats, but usually require some sort of ECU re-programming to get the max effect.

I wanna straight pipe mine to run out the side of the car and get a cherry bomb glasspack. It might be loud, but it will sound nasty for a Hyundai. I know there would be no performance gain, but could you imagine that thing at 4 grand lol

It's an idea, it's just there aren't any options for just changing the axle back section let's say.

I hear ya on the performance and hardships with high flow cats, I know there are always trade offs. Ideally I would get the whole exhaust high flow cats, and the catback + a tune but that would run over 3 grand for maybe 30 HP (10 form exhaust maybe 20 from a good tune), but at that point I feel it would be more cost effective for a mild supercharger set up.
