I won't vote, but I'll tell you how I feel about the two.

The Mustang is the better looking of the two by far (to me anyway), but I have flown them both and the P-47 is the better flier.

So it's up to you - Looks or performance?

Mike...........I won't vote either but in my mind's eye the P47 is the better looking of the two.........especially the razorback............like a Man's plane........rugged looking........tough.......attitude..............the P51 is like a little girlie man sporty car..................

Well, I'd hate to pick a fight with either one!

I am almost finished with the TF p-51.  Mine isnt the giant, its the 1/7th scale.  I am a bit surprised at how heavy it seems to be.  I put a 1.20 4s on the front.  I weighed it with digital scales.  It comes in at almost exactly 10lbs.  Other guys have told me theirs is over 12.  It just feels like a heavy 10 lbs.  We will see very soon how well it flies.

Don't worry. Warbirds fly better with a little weight behind them. They were never designed to be floaters.

A simple solution: build both of them!

Wow! Now to get a Gold Edition version of that bird! I'll have to submit the idea to the Planning Committee.

Damm 70 years to late, I can close my eyes and see the P-57 riding shot-gun with the B-17's. What dreams are made of. Who will be the first to build it.

I broke down and picked up the P-51 to build this winter. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. I'm still planning out all the little things that are going in it though.

So, is the P-57 called a Thunderstang or a Mustbolt?

I vote for Thunderstang, the more I look at it the more I want to build one.

I voted for the P-47. As mentioned it is one of the best flying Gold Edition Kits made. I have to admit that I am really leaning toward Mikes new airplane, it's cool. Good Luck, Dave

Now to find a set of P-47 and P-51 build prints. To trash 2 kits to do this cost way to much $.

So let me see if I have the picture right. The body and wing off the 47 and the tail feathers and bottom air intake of the 51.

Well this project is dead in the water, no build plans for the 47 or 51 and I looked at a lot of sites.
