In preparation for the upcoming building season, I ordered an X-Treme Jets BAE Hawk 1/5.5 through BVM. This build will start after I complete my new X-Treme Jets F-4C. I had a Jetlegend T-45 in the past and really enjoyed that model do I am looking forward to having a Hawk in the fleet once again. I elected to go with a Hawk VS. T-45 to take advantage of the trailing link nose gear. This will allow for rough strips or even grass field operations. The Hawk will be powered by a JetCat P-120SX or the new P-140RX. I will see what is available when I am ready to buy. Here is the color Scheme I chose. Look for detailed photos when the jet arrives in about 8 weeks or so.

For those who have this model, what are you using for full body pilots with the Skymaster Cockpit? I need to find two pilots for this bird. Do you have any pictures of your cockpit with pilots?
Thanks!

Mine came with the pilots right from Skymaster. They look pretty good.

HI Dom, you could go with this guy, or Black Widow, or both, then you can always go with Mr Bean.

Well it looks like my bran new P-120SX that I bought for the Phantom will now be the power plant for this Hawk. I ended up buying the New P-140RX for the Phantom. I am looking forward to building and flying the Hawk. Like I said earlier, the JL Hawk was probably the best jet I have ever flown. I think it is just that Hawks are great flyers. I flew my sapac T-45 and it flew just like my turbine version did. The Hawk has been on order for about 4 weeks or so now so I should be just about at the half way point for delivery. That's ok with me cause the phantom build is in full swing.

Well, his first post was on 9/17/11 so I would guess it took about 6-8 weeks to do it.

Looking forward to some pics Dom. Are you planning to do some fences on the wings to help with the slow speed performance? Did you notice any tip stall tendencies with your Sapac T45? Was just wondering as I've heard from some guys that the Hawk has a bit of a tendency to tip on occasion.

Can't wait for the photos

I had the fences on the Sapac T-45 and it flew like a dream with no bad habits. My Jetlegend T-45 had no wing fences and it is arguably the best flying jet I ever flew! I am really looking forward to having a Hawk in the fleet again. I hope the Skymaster Hawk flies as good as my Jetlegend did. I am getting a photo of the jet tomorrow and I will post it.....Jim I may need some help
Lots of photos once the kit arrives.

I like the Black Widow. Do you know where can I get a few of them? How much?

I actually bought 4 of these George Bush Pilots. Two for the Hawk and two spare. They are not the Blue Box version but are the Top Gun brand. Not as detailed but for $15-$25 each you cant go wrong. You can find them on E-Bay for as little as $12.99. They are the same size as the BB version.

Something looks odd with how they painted the red and green Nav lights on the wings. The appear to be way too large. Great looking jet otherwise.

I would have them send some extra black paint so you can adjust the size yourself

Good idea Rich. I asked Patty about it and she is going to e-mail Skymaster. The rest of the jet looks great from what I can see. I am looking forward to building and flying this one!
