My spinner in use is 110mm, my unpainted spinner is 114mm. Gene doesn't make the 114 spinner anymore for the Dora. If you want a carbon spinner, fighteraces.co.uk has theirs for the SIST. I got mine in last week. I'll paint it when I change my scheme.

Gene will cut it for your prop but you'll need to send it to him.

No problem. I ordered a cockpit dash from iflytailies.com. Knowing his speed, it'll probably be in Wednesday. I'll measure my available space for the sides and hit the LHS for parts before we get snowed in! really looking forward to getting my spinner so I can get started on that portion. That cowl is so long, I couldn't imagine pulling that every time I need access...

I show a few pages back another BF109 with the engine hatch. Thats exactly how I'll do it. I checked my bank account to see that troybuilt took the money for my spinner so it should be here hopefully by the end of the week.. That will be nice. I really want to get the engine area completed. It looks to be the easiest change to be made. The radiator flaps require engineering to look right to me.

You could do the drop down cowl access panels with piano hinge similar to what the old PCM Bfs had.

Thats the plan. I'm so glad this version doesn't have a retracting tail wheel...this is the reason I'm not doing the "K". One less headache. Maybe we can talk N8622T into it..

Well... Im back on hold with the spinner, I was just called by troybuilt all to find out that they sent the wrong spinner and it'll be a few more weeks.. So I get to make the long trip to the PO to return it when it arrives.

Back to the cockpit install.

Ive contacted Thomas at VQ but have yet to hear from him.. It's just been today so he'll most likely pull his 12am email trick.lol. No ventured out and was slapped for it! If VQ has them, I'll get it there. Troybuilt stated they'll refund my money when the spinner is returned but after this, that's the last they'll get from me! Man.. The aerodetail is awesome.I'm almost tempted to turn this into a G14 and with all the details Ty has for this...I've even figured the high tail portion out..

The bulges for the fuse and wing bulges Ty created plus the high tail and the canopy conversion I've done can make the G14.. There are six version of the G14... But wait... OMG There is a G16!!!.. It has cannons on the wing like Ty did, bomb rack centerlined with four bombs and a really funky intake for the turbo, kind of like the desert version. Now that a cool! I could see engineering a device to make the bombs drop.

I recieved my wheels and several props in today from Tower. Here are the pictures for reference. I'm glad I went this route as they fit the wing very well.

A few more pieces came in today. Looks like the top will need a little trimming to fit this kit.

I'm also going to build the ESM Bf-109G. I expect to receive my kit at the end of December. I'm following this thread very closely. A lot of could ideas here. I also have my eye on that instrument panel you just received. What I would like to ask is did you order the 1/5 or 1/4 scale size panel?

Keep up the good work.

greetings

Kjel

This is the 1/5 scale version. I got it from iflytailies.com. He has the built version and the kit version but his supplies are limited so if your interested in going with him, I'd let him know now. I'll start my cockpit sides tonight when it's quieter. Will make every piece I see in my aero detail from wood and styrene parts..yeah, it's going to be a long one!

Wow, thanks for the illustration from that book you pictured Ram That spoke volumes for me. I took my canopy out of the box yesterday to look at as well as the cockpit hatch...I cant get this P-40 finished fast enough

Yeah, lol. Sorry..when I was looking at them, he had I think two left. I'm working on getting another for either a esm flip to the "k" version or my meister scale job. Looking at this, it'll be cheaper to go with another ESM gustav but I don't enjoy re- engineering as much as I like building. but by then, I'll have all the bugs worked out.
