Wow, thanks for the illustration from that book you pictured Ram That spoke volumes for me. I took my canopy out of the box yesterday to look at as well as the cockpit hatch...I cant get this P-40 finished fast enough

No problem. The book has overwhelming amounts of information. If you want any info, let me know and I'll post if I have it.

Hate to barge in on this great thread and the awesome scale work that you all are doing, but I have a very basic question. Has anyone had a chance to actually fly one of these 109s yet and if so how do they fly? They are nice looking and as you have shown, the scale modifications that can be made are endless, but the basic question remains unanswered.

Thanks,

Mark

I didn't see it on VQ site either so I called and was told that they're close. He normally won't post it up until he has them like he did with the Sierra retracts. He notified me of them but until they were ready, he didn't post.

As for anyone flying, who knows?? I'm sure someone out there possibly but I think many are waiting for the spinner to complete their project. This guy is so new. Like the fw190 Dora, there were a load of post before someone flew it. I'm sure someone eager to figure this could just buy it and a basic spinner and fly it and worry about the details later if ever.

Sweet! I'm taking a break from this kit as I have another Dora which need a few more rivets on it to be ready for silver and paint. I want to get it completed as she's been very patient and school starts back up here soon. So looks like you're taking point on this. Hopefully others will start their kits soon.

Starting a poll of info with you guys regarding the spinner...This is a backup plan only. No immediate response is necessary, but later I will need to know who would be interested in a spinner made by Tru Turn...I am giving ESM till end of January for positive confirmation on a sho nuff spinner. After that Im going to Tru Turn for construction of a 109 spinner to our specs. This is just to give you guys something to consider as an option if plan A dont work out. count on it costing $250 based on what they sell a 6 inch Ultimate spinner for...this thing is going to be 6 1/2 inches and we will have the option of engine bolt arrangement, blade cuts, and lightened back plates. More than likely the minimum order for a new spinner like this will be ten...but it will be top quality and balanced, ready to install Think about it guys and I will bring it back up by the last week of January

Thanks

Guy's,
Got my spinner from ESM a couple of days ago for the 109 and also got a D9 Dora spinner from ESM for my mate. I've had a two second look at it, it's a single bolt through the centre Tru Turn style and comes pre cut, I got a two blade type. I think the factory thought we'd be running 16 inch props by the size of the cut outs but that suits me as I'd rather enlarge a hole than have it way too big. It is polished ali look (havn't spoken to the supplier yet about painted ones) and the shape look reasonable. I will post a pic later today when I get home from work. Cheers,
Dave

The basic question is... Don't 99% of all ESM ships fly well? Why would this one be any different. Besides where else can you get a fiber fuse 1/4.5 scale G version for this price?
