I want of these but I am not buying one until they have spinners for it

I seems foolish to produce a kit-but not have a spinner

it looks terrible without the right size and shape spinner
ruins the whole plane for me

Anyone know when they will have a decent spinner for this plane???

Can someone explain to me som possibilities as to why I have flutter in my ailerons when they're both connected to a y harness but when you remove one from e harness, they work fine. They're both JR 125mgs. I have the same problem on my outboard flaps which are also 125mgs on a separate channel.

What is your batt voltage?

Are they amplified Y?

I seem to remember the 125mg having issues with Ys at one time, I just don't remember much about it.

I am not joking; It could be a bad contact in one of the plugs.Try replacing the Y-harness?

Certian JR servos dont like 6v power even if listed as being ok on 6v on the packaging. Ive got some that will flutter, jitter, etc on 6v, but if connected to a voltage regulater bringing the juice down to about 5.6-5.8v...they work just fine.

Thanks to all. I'm running the new JR 922x 2.4 dsm power safe receiver. I'm still reading the instruction on the thing. Ive replaced all the y harneses. I'm thinking kahlog may be right but I'm hoping not id hate to have to need more servos... Again.. well, off to the hobby shop.

I had the pleasure of flying one of these beauties today, DA50 powered. What a combination!!! Effortless power. Landings were an absolute doddle with full flap, about 45 / 50 degrees or so. The guy had the lower radiator flaps working too, slowed up a treat. Balanced a bit forward of the factory settings, I'll get a measurement from him if anyone wants. Very nice, accurate flyer, like a camouflaged patternship!! Heres a couple of pics.

Ian.

Have done some more work on my project.

Now that looks wonderful but very scary hanging off such a small mounting footprint.
TA152 do tell, have you run this beasty yet out of the model? Any vibration with the long prop shaft?

Good work guys,

Brad

TA, here is a video of Neil flying his 109, with the DA50. It's just typical that the one flight that was videoed, was the flight where he forgot how to take off and land!!! The other ones he did that day were beautiful, very scale like and accurate. Spotlight nerves!!!!!

Also, what size Torquemaster is that? Please tell me its only the Z26 version!!???

Ian.

The Zenoah is a 62 I'm planning to use a 27" x 14" 3bladed propeller. Haven't started the engine yet. I will mount it on a aluminium plate and screw thre plate on the firewall.

Have a feeling that my Gustav will be a bit overpowered

I have the very same feeling mate. I have the very same set up in a 160" Albatros C.III and also putting one in a 1/4 Hurricane.

Reno anyone!!!! I must say though that the combination fits in a treat in that Gustav though, so why the devil not!!??

Ian.

Are you sure a 14 pitch will be enough? I don't know which reduction drive you have, but most are at least a 2 to 1. A G62 likes to turn about 7500 rpm so that is around 3750 prop rpms. That is not a lot of speed. A Moki radial turns about the same and it uses a 16 to 18 pitch prop.

From what I've seen, a reduction unit on a WWII "heavymetal" model is a bit lacking

Man.. I'm having a ton of difficulties with this site even loading now!!..

Looking good TA. I like the fit of the zenoah. You'll have plenty of power but you'll be a close third as rumor has it, someone here is placing an even larger beast in theirs and another has a DA60. My gustav is finished and we clear coated it a few days ago. We'll finally have the chance to hear the engine this week but with the weather being so windy and unpredictable here, who knows when she'll maiden.

My b-day is right around the corner and last year my wife bought me a cake with a ME109 on it.. This year she bought me the BF109.. so now I have two of these and the new one will be electric. I'm building the canopy as we chat. I'll be striping it bare in order to glass it at some point. I've a lot of plans for this one having built one already.

Looks like from the video, this ones landing characteristics are just as good as the real thing...

Ian,
Great video! Definitely inspirational for the rest of us! Any landing where the plane is still in one piece is successful (especially with a '109!).
I'm currently gathering the bits and pieces for mine. Lots of good tips on this fourm.

This propeller is only a test. The only reason I choosed the Torquemaster and ZG62 is that none of my beloved Laser Vees fits inside the cowl.
If the cowling have had a scale profile, I think the Laser300V would have been enclosed pretty well.

I'm not looking for the biggest engine or the fastest airplane, but it's an old dream to fly with a 3 blade propeller with scale dia. ( the throttlestick can be moved during flight)
