I've gone and done it again.

Have red aluminum pushrods coming, Jato Shock boots, lunsford servo turnbuckles, a few large pinion gears. 4 gens ace 5000mAh 2S 50C. The 3 sensor setup aswell. Red aluminum front turnbuckles.

Should have it all up soon. With the taller pinions and close motor temp monitoring I should be able to squeeze every once of performance out of the 4S setup.

Yeah but then you'll have to readjust the gearing once you go 6s

Not something that is on the top of my list for this truck. At 4S and close to 50mph it performs off road with more power than it can put down.

O ok. Well what gearing are you running on that?

I've got it at 20/54 currently, only a light step up from stock with optional gear.

I also have a 22 and 24 tooth pinions laying around.

I also am running the Trencher X tires (I've been playing with stockers recently too.) so they add a bit to the top end too.

Well I decided to slap a 24/54 set on my E-Revo with my Gens Ace 2x2S 5000mAh 50C packs. Tightened the slipper a bit more. Now it does standing backflips and I suddenly have a bent MIP Spline CVD, which I am pretty surprised at.

I'll be heading to the LHS once again and pick up a spare set of CVDs and send in this one to MIP. I've noticed they also are wearing where the pins attach to the 17mm hubs and are actually pushing metal from the through hole up and causing the shafts to stick to the hubs and they no longer slide through the bearings.

I've heard of other people having the same problem with the MIP shafts.

Standing backflips you say? Got any videos?

I'll shoot some video tomorrow, but only 1 or 2 flips because it is obviously very hard on the truck. Quite frankly beyond wow factor doing that does nothing for me, the truck is hard enough to drive under hard acceleration, and not a cheap piece of kit.

I think it's really pushing the limits of everything on the car considering how small it is.

Heck yeah it's pushing it to the limits but that's when the fun starts IMO. That's some pretty aggressive gearing you're running, no matter what you're doing I would be keeping an eye on temps if I were you, it's only really recommended for doing 6S speed runs on flat bitumen. You might have less problems if you drop the pinion down to a 18 tooth for 4S usage.

I haven't run it much on that and I'm not sure I'm planning to, but my temps have never even hit 140F with any driving.

140 is at the motor too, batteries stay under 100F and ESC has been around 120F. I clocked the connectors at 130F. I use deans.

Alright Kenny, it cost me 2 ring gears but this is backflipping on 2x2S Gens Ace 50C 5000mAh.

Made a trip to the LHS and picked up new ring and input gears for the diffs, then I found out that I busted a chip off one of the spider gears too, so I'll be going down there again now. That'll teach me to go there first before tearing it open.

The beast is rebuilt. Loosened the slipper back up a bit and lowered the gearing to 20/54. May go down to 18/54 or 20/65 or something along those lines.

I picked up a Castle Link but I don't own a windows machine so I'll be able to tweak it later on when I can figure out a solution to my windows issue.

4s or 6s setup? I'm done doing backflips, I just want to drive the darn thing. I enjoy wrenching on it as much as any good hobbiest but I have to admit tearing apart plastic parts repeadetly starts wearing out threads IMO. I have on screw that is looser than when I started.

I use a VERY small amount of CA glue on screws that have threaded the plastic out.

I've done that in the past too with some success, but I also sheared the head clean off a perfectly innocent 1/16" AE hex driver.

Well I finally got to a track with some jumps, albeit a small track too small for a beast like the ERBE to open up.

Anyways after some bashing I noticed that my pivot balls were slightly loose in the RPM arms, not stripped but the threaded shafts moved forwards and backwards IN the end of the arms. I may just throw some CA in them and thread the ball ends in and let it set.

Anyone know of any other options? I'm also thinking of the Kershaw Designs arm extensions, but that requires new turnbuckles going back to standard A-arms from the true track and isn't a quick swap over.

I also swung by the hobby shop because my MM ESC switch was acting up, I may well remove it completely and solder it on or replace it with a flippy switch or something cool.

While at the shop though I picked up a new servo for my beasty.

The servo handles  up to 8.4V it's a RadioPost brand servo. at 6V it does a 0.10 sec/60 with 333Oz*in. torque. If I ever go to a higher end radio system and feed it 7.4V I can get over 400Oz*In torque.

Turns much better now. Just need a cover plate for the missing servo, and maybe a roll cage on a hard landing I got the lid to hit the spur gear cover so I don't want it smacking the motor.

The threaded part of the pivot ball is loose inside the RPM arm? [rant]That stinks, I just read the other day how RPM don't cover threaded out plastic. The more I read into the RPM warranty the more I don't like them as a company. The RPM axle carriers I bought are nothing short of a waste of money and RPM can easily use the loop holes in their warranty to not replace them, hell why would I even want a second set I would rather a refund if anything. I haven't bothered to tell RPM about the problems I had with them, what's the point, they will just blame me like they seem to do with most other people. Someone needs to kick them in their dirty danglers.[/rant]

My true story is the stock servos are crap (you knew that) and that having a servo with 333Oz*In torque at a transit speed of .10 seconds is awesome.
