I noticed the 115 has a shorter stroke and bigger bore than the 100 and that usually means more top end and less bottom end torque. Has anyone used both engines and have a opinion on power delivery? Would you even notice a difference in power between the two motors? I am going to use it in a 3d plane. Opinions?

The 115 should be compared with the 91 for dimensions

The 100 and 125 are more like each other in deminsion.

I don't own a 100 but have seen them run.I do own a 115 and they are noticably more powerful can't vouch for how the 100's were tuned.

When it comes to engines with similar breathing capability and cam timing, in this case identical, you can throw the more torque @ ?? rpm out the window. In this case the 1.00s longer stroke or the 1.15s larger bore don't effect much other than the displacement. The 1.00s longer stroke which gives it more crank leverage and should provide more torque is equalled by the fact that the 1.15 has more piston top area and therefore more surface area for the combustion pressure to push on. The short version of that story is that the 1.15 is more powerful by virtue of its greater displacement since most other aspect of the two engines are equal. The .82 is a good case in point, its bore and stroke make it appear to be a revver but the reality is it's a great torquer.

It was my impression that the Saito 1.00 actually has a displacement of 1.10? I'd like to hear more from those who have both the 1.0 and 1.15. I've got 2 1.00's and they run very well and a 1.25 that I know is more powerful but I am curious about the 1.15.
