True Mark,
I agree with you that nobody will notice @ 100mph.
I agree its a great kit and everything fits , flies perfect etc etc .
All I wanted to do is give potential buyers of the scale scheme a heads up on what to expect , not what to ignore.
BTW what color scheme is your Viper - Im quite certain it isnt the metallic orange .
The other color schemes are OK

Thanks Dave, yes it is the dream scheme, I have built and test flown for a good buddy of mine, I do not own, it only a build and fit out for him, he has my Ultra Lighting at present on loan. I love the way the Viper flies, so clean and no trim any where. I think he will pick up this weekend. :-(

Mmmm

Nandan, one valid comment I have had, have you assembled it outside in natural light? The metallic paint always reflects different shade inside/outside

Nands, take a look at the dream scheme. Looks much better than your scale scheme.

Hello Chatty, this viper is the best kit I have ever built, nice to see you on the site, how are you, how's the hawk doing, ready to fly yet?
The dream scheme ,is to die for, not scale but looks as if it should be , with a few no,s on it who would know.
All my best regards .

 Haha Chaty ,
A bit too late to change my mind now, especially since the airplanles sitting on my workbench
A quick trip to the local paint booth on Pali Hill will sort out any minor problems with the paint

Hi Mark,

Was in Nagpur last weekend flying the hawk with Anurag, flew all his planes except the cougar. You wont believe what happened, while fueling the cougar the tank cracked once again, a wasp found its way from the vent line and blocked it. My hawk is still half done, too much full size and r/c flying keeps all kits in the box.
Flew Anurags SG viper with the JC Rhino, perfect combo.
Hope to see you in India this Jan.

Regards
Chatty.

Minor problems always sorted soon at pali hill, then you have to deal with the major ones.

Hey Guys,
Has anyone installed the nose gear door on their Viper ?
I want to install the nose gear door  so any inputs /  pictures will be appreciated.
Is it better to install an pneumatic cylinder or better to drive the door with a servo ?
Thanks

Xantos,

I am using a servo to close the door.

Attached is a photo to give you an idea of how I mounted the hinges to the fuse.

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the pics.
Do you have any pics of the linkage ?
What servo did you use ?
How is the Viper with the full length door on the side ? The  door is qiute large so does it have any adverse effects on the flying ?
if thats the case then there's also an option of a split door i.e hinged in the front and closes with the airflow and the side door which could be servo driven like the BVM Bandit
Thanks

Some pics of Mark Hintons Viper from today. Mark kindly let me have a fly. Very impressive machine, crisp flyer, very well balanced in all axis, knife edge is just peachy - powerful rudder and perfectly coupled. Landings almost Boomerang slow. Love it !

Zeev - it is the stock CARF (Tratz) air setup made for the model. Works faultlessly.

Regards

Colin

As per Colins post, just standard CARF Undercarts, I only have leg geardoors on but will be taking the round wheel part of these off as they touch the ground under braking , so that leaves me with just leg covers on, in flight this will not notice, I just want a total easy to operate winter model, no fuss no bother, fill charge fly fill charge fly, hope you understand. I have MKS servos in this DS660a + on all controls, so nice very accurate and positive centring and no slop. 26kg torque .

Hi Mark,

Flew my friends viper all weekend long, he has the same dream scheme as yours. Rock steady, I asked him to remove all the nose weight the manual suggested, flies much better now with inverted requiring only a bit of down.

Chatty.

They are intended to be used as fillers for the bottom of the seats.
