Hahaha!
I have plenty of wood for the build just didnt want to build one till I had a proper engine, weedies are fun but not the best for this type of hull.
If I can ever save enough for a Zen. then I will start on the tunnel, till then I still have other things to finish off.

Hi there Daz,
Good to hear things are progressing, even if you have slowed down. I spent the day yesterday wet sanding most of mine, cant stand up straight today lol. Have you chosen a color yet? I am thinking green for mine.
Cheers,
Dion.

IMHO ... you bought the wrong exhaust from Joe.

Where-ever you plan to use this boat ,
people will complain about that open exhaust.

Joe has also a silenced one.

Suspect the cheapest way is to swap it @ Joe ,
or order/use the RCMK silencer and water-inject the exit-pipe.
Other USA/Oriental silencers will not do.

 Hi hendricx
i brought this 1 its the only 1 listed on his site
http://zippkits.com/~zippkits/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=211
If i need to get a silencer ill order 1 but where iv got lined up to run it to start with it wont be an issue
My main goal now is get it painted and the K30 topkit installed, any tips on this would be a big help

You should be fine on your bigger lake as theres not many people arround but adding a muffler as Henk suggests is allways a good idea, personally id have used the china quiet pipe its a decent pipe and very quiet.

I got this pipe as i was advsed by somebody else who is running the same pipe on his RCMK RZ engines with real good results so for now its staying as is ,iv spent enough so far and investing money into other projects for the near future
its along way off to start worrying about silencers etc

I'd move that sucker forward seeing as it is now a 30cc motor. At least 34% CG if not 35%. You still have all your radio gear sitting behind the motor.

Hey cobus
its not  far now with just the engine in,be interesting to see how its performs

Right now im in a pickle
after building the engine up (which is a 1st for me) its been brought to my attention that the crank transfer need opening up to match the K30 top, apparently an easy enugh job and care work with  the dremmel,as iv never done anything like this before im abit Hmmmmmm what do i do shall i strip all the engine down and do it for better performance or shall i leave it,how much difference will this make
Not got a problem stripping the engine down and having ago,ill reseach some 1st but what are your opinions guys

Honest opinion sell it and buy a side exh rcmk or zen, that way you wont loose out any££ when it fails because by all accounts the rear exh version is not going to last very long.Yes you will need to cut the cowl etc but why run the risk of this motor failing and then having to fork out for another ?.If you remember ages ago i said ask him to exchange it for a side exh motor i still stand by that,i dont see how they can carry on selling them when they know they have problems and who knows if this kit will work any better, why be a gunea pig.

Hi mart im sticking with it,iv spent enough on this engine and it suits my F1,i dont want to start cutting into the canopy etc,im happy to use and try this RZ especially now with the new topkit bolted on,iv spoke to gizmo motors,RCMK etc and they assure me the problem will be greatly reduced due to the extra support the piston now has just gained some HP in the process.

Hey guys after making the decision, and talking to some1 and him giving me some advice and a very generous offer,i decided to strip the engine back down and match the transfer ports in the crankcase to the K30 topkit, took my time and stripped it right back to bare parts,i matched up and marked where to remove the excess material, took my time doing it with my dremmel then once happy i smoothed everything off with some fine wet n dry to finish leaving a nice smooth, clean finish and sore fingers to match LOL,finished the crankcase assembly just the top and mounts etc to finish off so shouldnt be long have a butchers just hoped it works ok

Ahh well there you have it the dreaded vote of confidence in this motor that has failed time and time again.I hope for your sake it has been sorted with the new topend but i dont see why you should have had to pay for it?,yet again they expect the customers to pick up the tab for there mistakes.First time ive ever seen anyone have to rebuild a new engine because theyre afraid to run it because of all the horror storys surrounding it.

I hope for f1's sake that the extra piece molded into the barrel will support the piston more or else it's toast as all the other ones like this.

hey cobus
I hope so too, thats why i decided to get the topkit
we'll find out in the new yr once finished if not i will be forwarding my complaint to them for sure.
I have spoken to them reguarding the original problem and my concerns and have said i will be keeping in touch if i have any further problems.

Mart im more than happy with the engine, dont forget 1 thing im new to gas boats and 2 strokes so im learning as i go,just wanna make sure iv got everything covered,im confident in the design of the hull etc as iv built a few now just getting everything sorted and make sure nothing is missing to complete the build.

But my next question is LOL
How do i rig up the engine cutoff onto the 3rd channel,is there a module or somthing you buy, ordering my new radio in the next couple of weeks, just wanna get the last couple of bits and pieces sorted now.

When you say cut off do you mean throttle cut or electronic engine stop?
