having a good day on this build
installed engine temporary to cut flexishaft, installed strut, flexi and flex saver
Also fitted the radiobox lid temporary to make sure it fits still after all the layers of paint have been added and the neoprene seal, all bolts have rubber o rings aswell so should be watertight.
Also shot through the mesh screen with engine installed, this should provide enough airflow through to engine and round the pipe.

IMHO the alu-mash don't match with the paint , paint the mashscreen black.

Also the mashscreen looks very coarse , buy a kitchen-strainer in the pound-shop ,

then you'll have a fine SS mash , either polish it or paint it black too.

Started on the electrics, the power to all will be
Flightpower EON X lite, 2100mah, 3s, 25C  lipo and weighs only 169g
Iv modified it by adding rx plug soldered on with the 3mm bullets, this will go to a switch then to the 5A UBEC then to rx, but should make for long run times without having to worry about the rx pack failing
The steering servo is 1/5 21kg MG high torque digital servo
The throttle is 9kg,standard size,MG high torque digital servo (abit over kill i know but will do for now for testing)
Throttle servo will be connected to failsafe in the event of a failure
Radio is Flysky TX & RX also installing a voltmeter to rx

The Flysky has built in fail safe so don't run another fail safe. I use a sub C cell pack 6volt 1500mAh. After a days racing of 4 x 6minute heats and about another 5 minute practice in the morning, the battery only takes about 600mAh. And you will see you might need some weight in the boat so a heavier NiMh pack would work great. Unless you have space issues.

Hi Cobus
didnt know about the built in failsafe, didnt say it on the write up on website, never mind ill keep it as a spare, you never know
Iv got room just already had this lipo lying around waiting for a job LOL thats why i chose to use it save spending out again when the ubec is 1/4 of the price
We'll see what happens once it hits the water and go from there

Looks neat. I would if I look at the clearance above the radio box make some vent slits just where the radio box starts (motor side) in the hatch to get some air onto that pipe.
