Align T-Rex 550E V2 3GX,,,
Noticed on the specs. that it says you need a 7 channel radio, will my 6 channel spektrum not work?

you only need 6 channels really... heres what you should do. get a 7 channel reciever, but use your DX6i. the seventh channel is good to have for you to plug your battery into on an electric. Throttle, ail., elev., pitch., rudd., gyro gain, then the seventh for your receiver battery. don't use your ESC to power your electronics (i don't even know if that's possible going that big) but always have that seperate reciever  battery pack ensuring you always have power to your electronics.

I believe on gas powered helis, the 7th Ch is used for the governor.

tinkman is correct... but an E shouldn't need the seventh channel cuz the 6 channels actually do have a battery port. Align's mistake. they do that alot lol

That's correct. I fly my 550e on a Dx6i with no issues at all.

What size batteries are people using with the 550?? 4500? 5000? c rating 30c 40c ?? what weight should I look for? not really a super hardcore flyer, so i won't be pulling a lot of amps all the time.

On my align 550 I use 5000 mah 40c. ......However 30c willl do just as nice.
