So Dave Evan's "ozief16" has hit me up to build a BV F-4 for him in his fathers trim scheme. His dad flew "E" model long noses back in the day, how cool is that! So my question for you guys is this. Is anyone here interested in a build thread? Not sure anyone is building these much anymore with the Chinese jets out there, but if you want the best and strongest Phantom you can get your hands on, there just ins't any better than a BVM Rhino. Let me know what you guys think and as soon as ozie gets off his a$$ and gets the model to me I will begin. I know I am going to have to send pictures to him so as I have to anyways, I figured it might be cool for others who might want to see.

Just for note here is a picture of his father driving a Rhino on final into Rhamstein AB back in 1978.

Yes, please do. I always learn from the build threads and would like to do a BVM Phantom in the future.

Let me think...hmmmmm......HECK YEA!!!!! Would love to see a John Redman build thread for sure! I'm still kicking myself for selling the Edwards F-16 you did for me years ago. That was a sweet bird as I'm sure this one will be too.

HI John, yes a build thread would be great, I have to build a BVM F-100, Mig and T-33, so your build, might show a better /faster way of assembly.

Pete, there is no fast way to build a BV F-4. But when you are done, there is no better flying F-4 on the planet. McDonnel Douglas could take some notes from BV I woudl say.

Hey Spence, how are you doing? I missed you at BITW. All good?

get in there Tiger. can't wait to get mine back from David Reid so I can stuff an iron lung in her and let her rip. might even consider repainting the old bird while she's broken down to parade rest.

Hi John,

I would be very interested in your build thread of the BVM F4. I have just started my F-100 so am keen to see how these heavy metal jets go together when built by a master.. I think there more of these kits around than people realise...

Thanks

Roger

It's almost done did some hammering on it this weekend. Inlets are nice and smooth, just have to finish up the cooling shroud install. Probably done by next weekend.

John,

Want some tips??? HAHA I've built two completely, and done turbine conversions on three now, great airplane, I'm going through mine this winter so I can blast mine around the sky again. Hard to believe mine is 11 years old.

The BV F-4 is on my 'to-do' list down the road. I've wanted one ever since Bob announced it WAY back when..

Go ahead, John, I will be happy to help. I still have my F4, (13 years old) Pegasus HPES powered with ballistic performance, not for the faint hearted. Mine features three tanks and extendible noseleg, and now with Weatronics Micro with 3 gyros, I do recommend yaw and roll gyros.

Regards,

David Gladwin.
