Hey guys,
While in the middle of building my Hunter I've decided I need a quick little electric to throw around.

So I just scored a pretty nice ABC Super Hawaii off of Ebay! NICE! Had one years ago and it was destroyed by an idiot bother in law so it will be nice to get it up and going!

Looking at scrapping the stock drive, changing it over to a direct drive, a giant Neu motor, at least 5s and some fiberglass reinforcement where needed!

Should be fun! Anyone still have one? Couple conversion articles around but info is sparse on these bad boys!

You might have scored on ebay?? These boats have been out of production for years!! The thing is and like with age, tend to get soft and turn yellow , if even out of the suns rays. Just thought i'd inform you as i've been there but hope all turns out ok works out for you.

Yeah I had one when they first came out and loved it! So we'll see. I know they are just ABS plastic which can get brittle in the sun. This one looks ok from the pics tho. We'll see when it's in my grubby little hands . I plan on doing some fiberglass reinforcement anyway just to handle the power I want to I've it. Don't need it stupid fast.....but fast enough to have fun!

Ok, a couple of weeks ago i did a Villian EX. I put a 36 50 3300 turnigy inrunner with a blue 34mm HobbyKing prop on 2S lipos without turn fins or trim tabs an had a low CG and ran perfect. I placed motor close to where original motors were but laid lipos ahead of motor but dropped lipos down onto a platform but ahead of motor about 2 1/2". Now it ran on the last 5" of the bottom.

I still have my Super Hawaii. I just ran it yesterday as a matter of fact. It's not the fastes FE boat out there, but for my budget it runs just fine. It has been converted to direct drive powered by the Super Vee 27 brushless system and I'm currently running 12 Nimh cells.

I'm with Canton. Ohio. My Villian and Arpro 1 run good and that's fine with me. Weather here is so- and if it returns to 60 degrees and not much wind, boating still a go.

I'm doing almost the same thing Vdub. Have a direct drive ready to slide in it and I'll be running a Neu 1515/1Y motor I've had sitting around. Not sure the cells yet. I'll be lipo for sure and may start with my 5S 5000mAh to see what happens.....then go from there. I'm going to glass the inside and stiffen up the transom a bit as well just in case! Don't need 60mph but would like 45mph ish area. We'll see! Still waiting for the dang thing to show up.

Didn't think it would take this long to get from SFO to SAN......dangit!
