I just got the Mad Torque from NitroRCX.com and I know most knock the exceed brand but hey its cheap, its big and it crawls!!! I modded it a bit tho before i even tried it out, basically came out of the box and went under the knife.

Mods so far:

Wheel weights
Chopped tire foam
Drilled Rims
TRX Connectors (Comes with B.S Banana Plugs That Tend to Melt)
73' Ford Bronco Body
70T Motors
Light Based Shock Oil
Rear Steering Set-up (Its A MUST!!! its hard to steer)

I can't really compare it to any other crawler I've owned because of its size but in the past i had 2 modded Wheely Kings, An Axial AX10, and some P.O.S New Bright FJ that i modded the hell out of, and i will say this, If you want a crawler for Free Crawling or Beginner Superclass Competitions, get it, its cheap and durable but also get the rear steering set-up because it sucks at turning without it.

i had the redcat 1/8 supercralwer. similar idea. MOA axles and huge tires. you have to really TRY to find stuff for trucks this big to have a hard time crawling. the redcat came with 4ws, and man is that awsome.

these kinda truck do pretty well in the snow as well!

Update: Went Crawling yesterday in the Big Elk Meadows Canyon Lyons, Colo. and realized the stance on The Mad Torque is a little too tall for bigger boulders and steeper declines, mostly resulting in roll overs and flips, don't want to mess up that body ya know? Also, got hung up a lot and it got dark at 6:15 Pm, needs skid plates and lights. So tonight i got creative. Here's the list of what i did :-)

1. Stretched the Links (Moved bolt location, Longer Bolts, shock location, and slightly stiffened the shocks.)
2. Fabricated Skid Plates
3. Made A Head Light.

Heres the pics :-)

Looks good.  Let us know what you break.  and what you upgrade..

I have found it tough to find stuff that is challenging for the Rockslide 1/8.  I modded my crawler track in the back yard and now its more challenging.   The size actually makes it great for the park or campus.  does real well on  steps.  I don't have a 1/10 crawler yet but I can see it would be a totally different experience.   Ordered up a Sumo for my daughter who is 5 as I got a get certificate from ebay so its 80 bucks delivered.

Thanks!!! it is tough to find stuff it can't crawl over, but the steeper rocks seemed to make it roll backwards, until i stretched it, it seems to hold up just fine on the rocks for the most part, the pinion gear's set screw came loose but easy fix. Those Sumo's look pretty neat, i'd like one for indoor use in the winter. Just ordered a Jeep Wrangler body for it because the wheel base is longer so maybe it will stop grinding the wheels.

Kind of but the Max Stone 8 is slightly taller and has aluminum shocks, Bent suspension links, top body mounts, plastic front/rear bumpers, different body,Aluminum rear stabilizer bar, and Different tires, but its the same MOA concept and chassis design.

Eh got bored of the Bronco body, so i went and got a Jeep Rubicon body, its trimmed and taped ready to paint but i'll have to wait until tomorrow because its only 20 Degrees here tonight. The parts that aren't taped will be black, the taped parts will be my signature mix of metal flake green, metallic silver and gun metal (the green seen on the 73' Bronco)
