This may be helpful as well. The planes that are NOT included with RFG6 AND mega AIR:

pack 2 F/A-22 Raptor , Wolf Spyder , Pogo XYF-1
pack 3 Cessna 310 , MigLET/XPD-8 , Piper Arrow II

Upgraded to version 6.
None of my expansion packs seems to find the product, and I have to manually point it to where it is. Then after it installs it can't put in the serial number. Anyone have a solution?

So has anyone tried the new wingtip and rotory trails option? I'm curious if it's any good, practicing for pattern or IMAC has always been tough on the Sim. G5.5 had the sky grid which was OK.

Any thoughts on the usefulness?

I have got RF6 going very well and even both mega packs (heli and air)

I never bought any of the exp packs , but downloaded the add-ons from http://www.realflight.com/addons.html I'm trying to do 2-5

I have extracted the files into the G6 data , but cannot see or use any of the content. Any ideas for one who just dabbles in computers.

So far the Sim is a blast , $thousands of dollars of damage already$

I forgot I had ordered exp pack 6 which is supposed to include all content from 1-5. I installed it ok and have all planes from exp pack 6 now, but I have no planes from 4 and 5 exp packs.

Maybe there is a difference between add-ons and exp packs after all.

The Expansion Packs are still associated with your previous version of RealFlight. You can move the files from the older versions folder to the RF6 folder. However, I feel the best way to do this is simply reinstall the Expansion Packs.

I finally got an answer to how to do it and will post it here.
My point to all this is that the average consumer would never figure this out and that knife edge needs to pack an insert, or make the answer to this more available.
Come on, how many of us that upgraded have expansion packs?
I will post the Q and A I had to finally figure out how to do it.
It isn't easy.
Problem is that it also doesn't ask for the serial numbers again which we are used to.

Q.That is great. Thanks for the response.
Now what about the installation of the expansion packs?
They don't install properly.
Any tips on how to have these install?
Thanks.

A.Insert the RF6 disk first and run it through take it out and install the expansion packs. We have discovered that RF6 installer does not detect the expansion packs you have to reinstall it.

Q.When I reinstall them, I get errors.
Can't find the directory ( I know how to point it there)
Then can't run what is needed to put in the serial numbers.

A.It cannot find the directory because RF6 is not seeing them so you have to insert RF6 first so that it can fix the installer and then install expansion packs.

Q.So sorry to sound lost in this, but as it is right now I have RF6 installed.
So what you are saying is that when I want to install one of the expansion packs, put that disk in, then also put in the rf6?
Or do I put in RF6 DVD to install the expansion packs?
Does it have an "install expansion pack" option?

A.You have to insert the RF6 disk again even though your RF6 is installed. Once the install option comes up take out the RF6 disk and then insert the expansion pack disk.

So how many people would have thought......ok, install RF6. Then, when I want to install my expansion packs, insert the RF6 DISK AGAIN FOR A SECOND....THEN TAKE IT OUT....THEN INSERT THE EXPANSION DISK TO INSTALL? Does that seem like something most people would figure out on their own?
Nope.
Just frustrating.
Kudos to the hobbico guy for getting me the right answers, but if they really want to do things right post that as a starting thread on the forum, or even better put it up on the knife edge sight on the front page and don't redirect us to hobbico. Never hurts to post something like this in a few places.

-No: the RealFlight Add-Ons 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 are free !
-The expansion packs cost money. (one through eight)
-You get (one) Mega Pack free with G6
-You have to buy the other Mega Pack

Cougar , you were right on. The add-ons are free , and do not include some of the expansion packs' content. They are different. Ah, just some more stuff to buy.

Whenever I start RFG6 I get a medium sized ghost window (box) in the upper left of my screen. Anyone else have this.

Also how long does it take to load on your PC?

I get the ghost window at around 7 seconds and then it takes about 20 total seconds to load an average field with plane. Many times as it is zooming in on the plane at start-up , it does it REAL SLOW. I'm not much of a pc guy , but this may be my PC being slow.

Strange, it really must be a ghost. I can't capture it. It happens right in between the initial long rectangle "loading" box and the full screen where it says "loading airport, ect."

I did have the RF5.5 free trial , but have uninstalled it since buying the RFG6. It's not much of a problem, just a see-thru window that is about 1/4 of my screen during start up. I don't recall it being there before. Only thing I've done is imported a dozen planes from KE.

The abvoe is helpful guys, thanks.
At the dealer I saw a "Pogo X wing"  in the plane list.
I do not see it in my new upgrade to  rf 6.  Which expansion/bonus pack would it be in?
Thanks
