You shouldn't need any more than that. You can always add a second rudder, which is the norm and connect it to the first. Larger horn on rudder???

When you put the larger control horn on the rudder.
Make sure you mount it far enough forward so that it rotates around the Rudder axis. (90 degrees on pivot)
After looking at you photo for a bit it seems that your horn is mounted too far rearward, which will swing the whole thing sideways instead of pushing or pulling the cable.

These cables are terrible for positive adjustment. to much slop in the cable's due to the different size of the wire from the guide.

these cables work better if almost straight, or if you use 2 cables as a pull pull. and set em tight.

FWIW. My two cents.

Smoky.

That is exactly the prob. The cable moves sideways and when adj on rudder horn axis point interferes. Only can do in middle of horn. Guide slides in clamps. I will give this a try. Thanks

I agree, Smoky found the problem. The horn needs to be closer to the hinge line..........Seaplane

I have good throw now. New prob is when I give left stick and release the airplane and water rudders center. When I give right stick and release the airplane and water rudders stop a little short. Requires a tap of left stick to center. Ideas on how to fix it? Advise appreciated

That problem is caused by the slop in the cable assembly itself.

There is no cure for it, using the set up you have. If you move the rudder slowly one way then the other you will see how much the rudder moves before the Float rudder begins to move. this is what is causing your problem.

However you should be able to fly with ok the way it is.

To Cure it. Use either a direct push-rod set up, or Dual cables (lots of resistance tho). set both to pull. one on each side of the rudder, and down to the appropriate side of the control horn of the float. (you need a Dual horn here, that sticks out both ways.)

If you check the Galleries here, you should be able to see a few different set-ups that are being used. I started with the set-up you have, didn't like it, same probs, and I am now using a push rod type.

THanks again Smoky,
That is very helpful. I think I will fly it this way until this airpalne becomes my fulltime water bird. Im still a beginner and switch back and forth to ground operations. Im building a Sig Kougar and once finished and Ive made the transition to Kougar the Kadet JR will be a fulltime floater.
Thanks again!
