Hey rv7garage, nice looking Cub there.  Gives me ideas for the one I'm building.  And I bet it sounds really nice with that Saito in there!  You do nice work, but from looking at your blog, it looks like you're use to it!

Take care,
David

Thanks, David. The RV-7 is a 10-year project (at least!), but I did actually get to do some work on it this weekend- the R/H elevator skin has been riveted to the skeleton. Big stuff!

Do you happen to have Microsoft Word 2007? If you can get whatever it is that you're copying into WORD, then you can now "Save As" a PDF

Rainy sunday afternoon and I found this thread while waiting for the elevators to dry on my second GB anniversery Cub, first one never got finished due to a flood.

I have the original Saito .45 I was planning on the first one, 25 years and I'm finally getting my Cub. Finished the second wing half last night, a few minor things in the fuse for mounting the servos, build the tail and rudder and start covering. I'm planning on a pull-pull rudder and mounting a servo in the wing for each aileron. I have taken some weight out here and there, going to use a fabric covering. I'll get a few pictures before I cover everything up. Add me to Cub Club please

Gee Robert, I'd have to actually have both in my hand to compare which is better, but I like the fact that Fibertech N More has all the holes marked and ready to cut out.  It may not be for everyone I know, but for a beginner like me, it would have been really nice... and CHEAPER!  (That counts a lot in my book.)  Just my two cents.

Take care,
David

The Fiber Tech and More site has a cowl specifically for the Goldberg J3. I ordered it. The Fiberglass Specialities no longer lists a cowl for the Goldberg J3, but has some for various other Goldberg models.
Thanks for the help!

I just test flew A DP PA 18 super cub that I got from a club member. It had 5 flights on it and was damaged 0n the fifth landing. The damage was to the cowl, windscreen and the nose. When I repaired the damage I covered the switch and fuel dot behind the cabin door, really cleans up the outside of the plane. The plane is now marked as a L-21A as used by the Army in the 1950's

acerc,

I have found that painting figures that a base of white make them easy to paint,I also wanted to fly the plane with them in place to see if velcro would keep them in place(it did) They never tried to get out,I guess it was safer in the plane.I will post some flight shots when I get them.

I want in on the Cub Brotherhood.
I have two Cubs. I built the Goldberg Anniversary Cub about 15 years ago and have 500+ flights on it. It has been recovered and is on its 3rd engine. A great fun flying airplane. At our annual Open House, I put streamers on it and play fox and hounds, letting anyone try to cut the streamers. Many try but few succeed.
My other Cub is the Great Planes 1/4 scale, OS 160 twin. It has conventional landing gear and floats. I have flown it off lakes and the Chesapeake Bay. For video, go to

Well Charles, I don't think there has been much activity lately has there?

Hey, I've got a question for you.  At one time you had designed and built a really cool scale instrument panel for, I'm assuming, a 25% L4.  You posted it on the Sig 1/4scale C/W Cub build thread.  What ever happened to that?  I'm going to need to do something for my Cub.  The panel I got from Anthony is actually 1/3 scale (I'm pretty sure anyway).

Take care,
David

Hey Guys the Cub den has gone to Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TheCubDen

Cub Flyer I can make you one. Just had too much going on to make a bunch of them. Trying to make a general one that would fit all 1/4 scale cubs only issue is some have a flat panel and some have the top rounded. Wich one do you need?

I like the look of the rounded top.  That's what I was going to do.  I'll make it fit as long as it's 25% and not 33%.

Do you want to talk details offline or online?  There are some important things I need to know first.  PM me if you want to go off.

Thanks,
David
