Got another request for a canopy today so that makes 7 being built. I am home this morning and just signed in before I go into work. Most of you know that my wife had 2-3 heart attacks 3 weeks ago, this build will be my therapy while she is doing hers this winter.

Ron, do you have a estimate of the new weight? I have a Wren 100 at 22lbs that would go in it.

Ron,
Are you building that plane upstairs or sneaking the parts up while the wife's napping? At home my dog will roll on my shop floor then drag the balsa dust through the house. Guess who ran the vacum cleaner before the family came on Thursday. I saw Nick at the field yesterday and he told me of your progress. Put me down for a canopy. My Rhino will now finaly have a home. Hope you guys are well. see you soon.

Hey Bob,
You building one of these monsters too? I'm going to have to hit the streets for a larger vehicle. The VW golf just won't work. We three need to also get a servo list together for a bulk order at the Hobby Shop. Let me know! As for the dog sprinkle some glue ,roll her around a few more times in the Balsa dust, strap a set of wings on and have her run REALLY REALLY fast. Should be interesting!!!!! HE HE!!!

Hey Jimmy, That works for me. Hopefully Robart will have gear available when we're ready also. Maybe
I'll paint them all the same and we can become a synchronized team. Ron you get to be lead. How about early T-Bird colors, I'd like to try some of the new chrome paints. I will check with Troy about cutting the wing cores and then call Limey Bob for the wood. Wanna buy a low mileage Reaction?

Bob, I'll cut your stab this week and wing when we get ready since you are so close. Troy has foam at his place that he can bring me at work.

Keith, without talking to Troy I'g going to guess at about $100.00 as there will be six cores (4 wing and two Stab) to keep the box at a roughly 2 foot cube. The shipping will be what ever it is. I'll see him tomorrow and will ask about him cutting the cores for people when we are happy with my sets.

Canopy update for everyone on the list. I spoke with Nick Sr. today at work and since so many people have jumped on the build wagon; Nick Ziroli Plans will be selling the canopies direct and not just a custom job for me. So that not everyone is bugging Nicky's staff I will send out a notice when the canopies are ready and the cost; then you can call The shop and they can take your order and process the payment method. The boxes will be big and this will be the best way to handle shipping to all of you. The good thing is we now have about 10 guys (and growing) looking for canopies so Nick Sr is reminding him to get on it.

Jeff I'll bet that they will be about 28-30 lbs at takeoff. I have never weighed mine but the regular sized one flew first on 14 lbs thrust and then Nick built a second one with a P-70. Mine std one is way over powered with the P-120 and that was the reason for the bigger one. 22 lbs will be ok you will just have to be a little higher on the power than us with the P-120 size engines. This plane flies on the wing and lands so slow its like flying a Goldberg Tiger Sixty with a turbine in it. I rarely use my brakes other than in the taxi area on landing.

Ron, thanks a bunch for cutting the foam, I will contact Limey Bob tomorrow. Talked to Jimmy this evening and he sounds excited, We need to find out when Farview has thier meetings so we can join a jet friendly club nearby. As luck would have it, Harold called this afternoon, he sold my F-15 for me today. Can't beat the timing. Fiberglass jet kits are a real hoot to build but there's something about building a plane from a box of flat sheet and sticks that makes this hobby all the more rewarding. Can't wait to get started. I'll keep whitling away on the A-10 till the Uber Turbinator gets here.

Thanks again
Bob

Ron, Sounds good. I saw David Shulman fly his at the Jet World Masters in August at Dayton and really liked the way it flew. I just want a bigger plane. I want the three piece built up wing. I will give Laser Design a call tomorrow.

I ordered a bunch of sticks and sheets today. Hope I came close to ordering what I'll need. Can't wait to start on the Uber T.

Might have to push the YA F-15 off the table so I don't get too far behind all the Uber builds.

For those of you that need some guidance on the fuse build up sequence here's a copy of the std build up instructions from Nick Ziroli Plans. The wood sizes will of course be bigger for the fuse crutch but the sheeting can stay the same for the fuse top and Limey bob includes the front fin sheeting at 1/8th so I am using that for the bigger fin sheeting.

I just opened it on my work computer. It took awhile, but it loaded. Might be a problem with your laptop.

Troy says he will cut the wings and stabs for those that want a set. He will need to see the size to get a price for everyone. Once we get the airfoil to match the plans the file is scale able; so cutting any size just requires a few minutes of math. I then rename the files for the correct size plane.

Keith your welcome; but my hobby is what has kept me sane all these years and has provided me with a wonderful career in aviation and the hobby business. Many of my close friends know that both of my parents supported my hobby from when I first got the bug as a young child. While they saw me fly Df planes hundreds of times; It's to bad that they never saw me with the jet engine models as they knew I always dreamed of flying them and told them that one day that we would have little jet engines and that I hoped I could afford to own one. They made sure I got a good education so I could afford my hobby as well as my mother-in-law ( before she passed) buying me so many BVM kits that my dreams came true of building and flying jet models. My std size Turbinator " Lil Dottie" is named after my mother in law. The Big one will be named after my mom. Bob Frantz can tell you my mom had a great sense of humor so "Annie's Fanny" would suit her fine for a name.
