Hello Pete, somewhere in my topic I wright about "my system" how I put engine on the fuselage.
If you want MVVS (Evolution) propeller shaft to get in the middle of the dummy engine hole, you need first to put dummy engine in the cowl. Then set cowl on the fuselage. For that you need to have aluminum cowl carriers. That is first step.
Second step is to put engine on the front side of the mount and set mount carriers on back side. You can't made holes on the fire wall without all those parts...
Holes on the wire wall are 6 mm, but holes worth nothing without the engine mount. You can't made it precisely on the fire wall without all those parts...

In mean time I add lead in front on the cowl (1 kg) and three 100 gr leads on the back side of the dummy engine.

This leads I made removable in the case to need to take down some lead after first few flights...

Tomorrow I will sent first Detail Set for P 47.
Detail Set contains all details for fuselage, wing and tail surfaces.

In Detail Set you get more dummy screws (dummy screws you can get in Mirce Finish Set also, with panel lines and rivets...)

How details look on Thunderbolt you can see in this topic from post 415, 442, 446, 447...

Regards

Mirce

P.S. Thank you Kevin (Melchizedec) for kind words. Engine angle is for eliminate propeller rotation torque...

Hey Mirce, Great build, I am anxiously awaiting your maiden flight and I wish you the best of luck when the time comes.
I wanted to ask; Could your finishing decal set be scaled down for the the Top Flite giant 1/6th  thunderbolt?
Thanks,
Essar.

Thank you Essar, I'm waiting maiden flight too.

Today my friend, who made my trailer, visit me and take measure for P 47 trailer stand. Hope in next few day it will be finished, so after that no reasons for more waiting.

Engine work fine, I get 5900 rpm with propeller Falcon 26x10. In Evolution manual wright that best performance engine will have when you get 6400 rpm on the ground. Hope that I will get those numbers after engine more and more work time...
For now, engine work nice, it start very easy, idle is good 1300 - 1400 rpm, transition from idle to full rpm are good, and on full speed engine work fine.
Propeller this size is recommended from Evolution, and it is smaller propeller size.
In next day or two I will try this engine with Pitts style muffler, just to check numbers...

And at the end, Essar, yes I can made smaller detail set for Top Flite P 47. I will change size of P 47 in my Corel Draw file, from 2,6 meter wing span (Meister) on 2,17 meter (Top Flite).

Few days ago I send one Mirce Finish set for 1/6 scale. Difference is in smaller rivets ( 1,6 mm diameter), so I can offer that to you too.

All the best

Mirce

Mirce,

I did receive the finish set for my TF Giant P-47. I was in Mexico for the past 2 weeks on vacation and I just picked it up from my friend who went to the post office and picked it up for me. I am VERY happy with the quality of everything that you provided.
Thank you so much.

Thanks Essar and Pete...

Pete yes I can prepare all to you, but I will send you e-mail with details...

Today I get metal carrier for trailer in which I will put fuselage. Construction I have of earlier, from my Top Flite P 47, so my friend who made it, haven't a lot to work to change it.
New carrier must be little longer and wider...

When I made trailer, few years ago, I made it bigger and wider, than I need at that time.
Tonight, when I put Meister P 47 inside, I saw that trailer is just 2" longer than fuselage. I think that I will take down spinner in transport...

Job about making fuselage carrier was last big job in this building, and hope it will be finish tomorrow.
Tomorrow I will made last engine test and at Saturday, if temperature and wind be OK, I will made maiden flight...

Regards

Mirce

Good luck my friend with the maiden. I wish you a 1000 great flights and I know you will love to fly this plane. The more you fly and get to know the true envelope of the Meister 47 the more fun you will have. Anytime you see guys flying a big 47 very very slow it turns out to be a Meister. Great airfoil and so fun to fly! I have enjoyed mine for a number of years now and wish I had time to fly it every day!

Congrats on a great build and finished product.....it really has been fun to watch and great work on your part. Thanks for taking all the time and effort to put this all on line. I know it can be a lot of work and you sure have done a great job educating us.

We all wish you well on saturday and are excited to hear the good news!

Scott

Rcyogy, unfortunately I haven't.

Detail set for P 47 is first set I made because I made that model. I can change scale from 1/5 to 1/6 or some other...

I wasn't made P 51.
Next Mirce Detail set will be for Zero and after that for Foke Wulf - that's my next projects...

Today I finished work on my trailer, so P 47 fuselage is ready for transport...

Most important thing in trailer are rails in which my fuselage carrier slide to front and back.

This allowed me to put fuselage a lot of easier in and out of the trailer.

Screws in the front don't allow carrier to go in front...

... and rear screws are removable...

I cut plastic part for fixing Hellcat spinner and that give me more space in the front for spinner of P 47...

Last night I made test how much rpm and traction I have with my exhaust system, compare with exhaust system from factory (Evolution).

With propeller Falcon 26 x 10 and my exhaust system, engine give 5760 rpm and 16,75 kg of traction.

We change exhaust...

... warm up engine and get 6000 rpm and 17,5 kg of traction. As we can see factory exhaust is better, and in first moment I think to change my system with that, but after thinking and made some calculation I saw that difference is just 4%.
With my exhaust Thunderbolt weight and tractive force is 76% vs 81% with factory exhaust.
Mayne reason why not to put factory exhaust is because I need to made one big hole in the middle of the left cowl side, and that will be pretty ugly...
With almost 17 kg of traction, this model will fly very nice. Can't forget, in the air engine will be little relieved, and after every flight it will be more and more stronger...

Unfortunately I haven't some smaller propeller like 25 x 10 or some Majzlik, with thinner blades, to try measure with that.
In Evolution manual wright that best torque is between 6200 - 6600 rpm.

Regards

Mirce

Hi Mirce, i have been following your build from the beginning, very nice clean work.
Your Evo is putting out almost the same as my 3W85 i am getting 18kg thrust at about 6000 RPM with a 26X10 Chinese prop there is a bit more in my engine but those numbers do me fine.
Mine is in a T/F P47 kit build at about 35 Pounds and it really honks at those figures.
Good luck with the maiden, don't forget the video so we can all share in it.
Dave.

Yesterday I made maiden flight with P 47... Oh man, this model is fantastic...

I made two flights, both was without any problem, take off is straight, P 47 run like on rails...
My biggest concern was engine power. As I wright I get 5750 rpm which is lower than 6200 - 6600 area of biggest torque. But, no problem in the air....
Best of all is landing, full flaps, throttle on idle, and landing was soooooooooo smooth... Unbelievably....

This model look like bigger, better version of Top Flite Thunderbolt.

Here is few picture from airfield, and video will be in day or two...

I am very very satisfied with flight performance.
All in all, this topic show how good Meistre design is. Building is easy, simple, model is huge, very attractive, it is big enough to add many details, and finally flying characteristic are great...

Best regards

Mirce

Hello Mirce,

Please let me be the first to Congratulate you on your successful maiden flights. I agree with you that Meister makes a fantastic airplane, but to start with a box of wood and end up with a plane like yours , takes an incredible amount of talent and hard work on your part. I have thoroughly enjoyed following along with you from the beginning on your build and I wish you MANY year of enjoyable flights with your Jug. I think you should also be commended for your hard work in keeping uip with this build thread. It gives people like me, with far less building experience, the chance to watch a real craftsman at work.

David

Everything turned out great! I cant wait to see the
video.

I know this thread build is going to be a big help when I
