How many of you access a common group of forums each time you sign on? I hit about 10 - Aerodynamics, Beginners, Kit Building, Q&A , etc.

I got tired of accessing them one at a time even though I have RCU as a button on my tool bar so I looked for a way to use one action to open up all of my forums.

BTW - my primary browser is Firefox but I also use IE 9 and this works very much the same with IE 9. I also utilize the browser's tab feature which allows 1 browser window to access many different web pages, each as an individual tab. To move between the different windows, just mouse-click a new tab.

I created a bookmark / favorite for each of my RCU forum pages. I let the browser remember my user id and password. This is NOT an important password - just a browsing junk password that you'd give your kids. After bookmarking all the pages I go to the browser's "organization" tool - usally part of the "show all bookmarks" option. Create a folder - maybe more than one - and then move all of the individual links into the appropriate folder. I used 1 folder - My RCU - and moved each of the individual links into the folder. Then, and this is the key, I moved the "folder" to my tool bar. It now shows up on the tool bar with a folder icon.

Access? Simple - If I left-click the folder I can pick and chose an individual link. If, however, I right-click the folder I can select "Open All Tabs" which automatically opens up all forum pages, each with their own tab.

For me it saves a bunch of time. For you? Time to play. If you have specific questions I can cut-n-paste screen images and post them.

Pics were easier said than done ...

pic 1 - opened browse - tool bar is in view (3rd line down - Gmail, TWC, etc.)
pic 2 - left-click the My RCU Forums button - I selected "Open all in tabs"
pic 3 - there are now a bunch of tabs just under the tool bar - each with the name of a different forum
pic 4 - in the upper right corner there's a "bookmarks" button for managing Firefox bookmarks
pic 5 - show all bookmarks was hit on previous screen - resulting in this screen - note upper left corner - "bookmarks toolbar" folder
pic 6 - toolbar opened up - see My RCU Forums folder
pic 7 - selected My RCU Forums folder - contents 8 pages.

You could have 3 bookmarks in the folder, 10 bookmarks, get creative

Hey SeamusG. Maybe i've missed something here, but isn't what you have done, the same as accessing the forums you are interested in, through RCUniverse, with a forum subscription?

Given how gawd awful long it takes to get RCU to respond to your browser when you access a single link, if you have 10 forums that you wish to "review" on a frequent basis, why on earth do you want to do them one at a time when you can request them all at one time, review the 1st, and when you move to the 2nd it will already have loaded, etc.

Btw - if I want to be notified by email of every single post to every single thread in a forum I will subscribe to the "forum". Me? I don't want to flood my inbox with potentially hundreds of emails. Maybe helpful if you are a moderator assigned to a forum and it is your responsibility to review each and every post ... I just want to scan a forum for new topic activities. If there are none of interest, I close the tab. If there is one or more of interest I will take a look. If that particular thread is of interest I will either post (and subscribe) or I will just subscribe to that thread.

I would like to add one thing.  You will not recieve hundreds of email notifications to new posts in a forum, unless you request this to happen.  You must go to forum settings and click on the email notification box for that particular forum.

You can choose to not receive emails. I don't access the forums one at a time, The new posts button brings up every subscibed forum with new posts page after page. I understand where your coming from though.
