why is it when someone post's something 400 people read it,and then 2 people reply? With as many "experts" there are here you would think they could take a whole2 minutes to answer the question or at least post the thread address !! when I joined this "club" a couple weeks back I "double posted" a question(not knowing any better, now I do and the problem is resolved) some whining little freak replies "don't double post I hate having to read the question twice" (I still won't answer the question, but I don't want to read it twice). I see so many threads with valid questions, 2000 people read it and no one answers to it. sooooo maybe some of you "experts" can help some of us beginners. remember you were not always "experts." O.K I'm done now, when you read this you can reply with "HEY MOE go stick your head in the toilet" but at least reply

Its all about exposure, Moe. New guys such as yourself all have the same questions, which we have answered an infinite number of times before.

We all know that fresh blood, new guys like you, are very necessary for the continued success of the hobby. But many of us are just tired of answering the same old questions. That is an improper attitude to take, but I'll admit to being just as guilty of it as anybody else.

I'll see a question and know the answer, but not post because "somebody else will handle it". That's all well and good, as long as somebody does. Sometimes, they don't.

Steve

Moe, another reason could be that the first guy answered the question and the others that look at it don't have anything to add, so they just leave it at that. I go to a lot of posts and if it has been answered propperly, I move on without posting an answer. If I have something to add, I add it.

Just another reason why

Yeah, and sometimes I read the question and I don't have any idea what the answer is so I keep coming back to see if anyone has written a really good answer. So the number of views goes up cause I check back real often.

Of the 6 threads you've started, you seem to have gotten adequate responses. What's the complaint?

There are appropriate forums to post questions in; what does this question have to do with kit building?

Moe:

With me, if I do qualify for your "Expert" class, it's several things.

There are four forae I watch specificaly; 1/2A, Scratch building, Twins, and this one.

I go through them regularly, and try to catch all the zero response threads. I'll usually post a response, unless I don't think I can answer/add anything to the original post.

I try to monitor all threads, make they stay on topic, and are productive or enjoyable. Preferably both.

I'm sure the other mods try to let no question go unanswered as well.

Bill.

Something newbies could do to avoid this is to do a "search " for your questions. Go to the top of any page on RCUniverse and click on "search" (right below the RCUniverse.com logo), key in your subject in “Search By Keyword”, then hit “Perform Search”. You’ll get tons of threads on your subject, and you’ll see the posts that have already answered what you’re asking.

And sometimes that's the problem, wading through hundreds of posts to try to locate a small detail. I see no BIG problem with posting the same stuff again. Or answering the same questions again. There are new people every day that just want to browse, and they, like me, might learn something. And if I have an answer, I'll answer.
