ORIGINAL: Chuck322 kochj, yes, 11+lbs seem too heavy, but it has a big wing and flies light - it's a larger plane than the Funtana 100. Mine has 12.74lbs and I did a lot to keep it light. There is a lot of 3D in this plane. Hover is not everything for me, but it does it too. No unlimited vertical though. The pipetunnel is not long enough. I used the supplied glasstunnel for the rear and made a balsatunnel up front. This plane flies so good, that every time out at the field I get offers to sell it. Chuck Chuck, is this the KMP Katana 2M Freestyle that you're talking about? Also are these pics of YOUR KMP Katana in your post? I've been trying for the loooooongest time to find ANY user info on this plane and your post is the most I can find! The thing is that I fly electric so I have to convert most of my bigger planes. However I'm having a REALLY difficult time even finding a build thread (never mind conversion threads!) on any of the message boards online for this plane. These kinds of threads help immensely in determining the pros and cons of an electric conversion of any particular plane. So ... would you know of any such conversion threads or even just a regular build thread? If you know of any I'd really appreciate those links. Now since you have one maybe you could help me out with some stats? Stuff like: What's the wing area? What's the weight of JUST the kit parts? What's the suggested flying weight? Also what are the flying characteristics like ... 3D capabilities? How about comparisons to the other popular aerobats in this size class? (Yaks, Extras, Edges etc) My apologies for all these questions but I've been desperate to find ANY info on this plane. Thanks! Colin.
