Status: offline 		i brought this yeasterday, its a £30 version of the £80 Tyco one... thing is, it goes like a £30 copy.. short carpet, nope, pavement, not really, i even had it on a mirror yesterday... not that much lift. in the bath bubbles pored out the front and sides, nothing from the rear. will add some nose weight i think. probably a better lift motor too. the standard 400 size isn't enough, i've got a good 370 here or.. maybe the 9.6V guts will cope with my Wattage 10 cell pack
any advice well recived

bought a few years ago for £85 new. I good condition. And does work.

Status: offline 		I've owned an All lander hovercraft from Australia with a 46 IC engine which was OK on water but rubbish on land. I also own a Taiyo Edge hovercraft which is fun on water and very flat surfaces but no good at all on grass, tarmac or carpets. Having said that the All Lander didn't work on grass either.

I would love to own see one that does all of this.

Status: offline 		I have a 25cc powered petrol hovercraft. (sadly now for sale) it is 4 feet long and 2 feet wide. it is built out of plywood and handles like a dream. It is a completely unique experience to fly.

Status: offline 		Its that video that inspired me to get one. I'm not sure exactly how they managed to make it look like that, but it does look like its going downhill.

To be honest, I was really disappointed with mine.

Status: offline 		I am so annoyed, i cant find anyware near me suitable to fly my hovercraft. and it is taking up space in my shed. I think i will have to sell it and get something smaller that i can use on the hill that i live on; a nitro truck perhaps!!!

The craft is fully working and is realy nicly tuned.

If anyone is interested make me an offer, with or without radio.

Status: offline 		Hi, I'm new here and not to good att this language but i thougt that it culd be interesting for med and you to se my latest projekts!

I startet one sunday evning a couple of weeks ago when i had nothing to do an pulled uot some junk from the closet and builded this!





It's very fun to drive/fly so a wantet to build a bigger model..

So i bougt a .40 engine from a friend and brougt out my old rc cars and took the radio from those..

This i the result:

I was thinking of building my own.
I have a .35 engine with prop. But have some questions.
Wat kind of material did you use for your skirt?
What's the weight of your craft when it's ready to fly?
I thought of using a second elektro motor for lift, does anyone know wich motor is best for this.
I was kind of thinking of a graupner 400 or 600.

Thanks!

I will try to anwer your questions as good as i can!

-The skirt is made of some "rubbery" stuff as my girfriend brought home from work but i sew it together!
-I'm almost embarest to tell the weight, but anyway.. about 6Kg, but i think that i will be able to get the weight down a bit whith my latest ideas
-I don't thing that using a second engine is nessesary, whith only one engine you get the advantage of stopping the craft when you cut the trottle, i have some wood skids that it rests on when the engine i idleling.

Can you also tell me the heigth your hovercraft hovers?
I know it's different when you give full throttle, but it's just so I get an idea.
I noticed you have a lot of snow to test your craft.
This is an ideal surface, but I don't get much snow here in Belgium.
Do you think it will be possible to go over grass and rough surfaces?

The skirt is 5cm high messured from tho bottom of the lowest point of the craft, now i doesn't hover more than 1-2cm of the grond butt I'm going to modify it today and i hope that it will rise allmost 5cm up then.

I've tried it on wet asphalt and it works well so i think that it vill work on short grass aswell

I modified the skirt and airways under the body and now it rices allmost 5cm high from the ground, end it flyes mutch faster.

It only takes 1/4 throttle to rice the craft as high as it gets.

Rigt now its about 6Kg, but i lifts good anyway, only negativ thing is that it's more weight to accelerate.

I have a lot of pics but i would sugest that you choose the model that "alpinej0e" i building, it loocks a bit better than mine, if I had seen that model before i startet mine would be built something like that.

The other tread whith the 26cc hoovercraft is allso the same basic model and there is some good pics there.
