Hi sheograth,

Yeap it's very appealing, and now it's very tough to make a choice between Apache C1 Flux and Vorza Flux, price difference is small and IMHO is corresponding to ESC/Motor differences, the rest IMHO is identical (body excepted), it seems that the ESC for Apache is located underneath the spare wheel.
Apache wheels should fit Vorza too.

I was almost to get a Vorza, now is less sure, Apache delivery date is far... February 2012

What's your choice ?

Vorza has a better ESC/motor.

There's also already a thread for this car

Sheo, you even posted in that thread.

I prefer the looks of this Apache over the Vorza.

So far I prefer the Axial EXO mainly because it comes in kit form. I don't understand RTR.

I still dunno how I feel about the whole "scale realism" thing that seems to be coming into play. I mean, the chassis looks awesome and everything with the legit roll bars intigrated into the body. But i'm just not all for the little dudes and mini-steering wheel thing.

Hi sheograth,

I roughly compared both, if you are interested :

trying to compare the apache to the axial is silly, its like comparing a short course and a 1/8 buggy... personally i would have the apache, everything looks sturdier and better designed. mainly because its based on a D8. if you want a kit why not take the rtr apart? it will need a check over anyway before running, why not make it a project?

Looks sweet, the apache SC looks good too, but for the extreme prices of 609.99 for the buggy and I thought I saw the sc for 589.99 on tower hobbies.com, I'll pass

It has the potential to be eipc, but the little info we have so far isn't very encouraging. Firstly it's 1/8th scale, good in a way, cos you can fit 1/8th scale electrics, however, HPI haven't done that. It has an MMP controller, which means 4s (yes I know the MMP is 6s capable, but not in 1/8th vehicles). So, what's it competing with at the moment...only the SC8 really.

The rear arms are not adjustable. Neither are the front. This is kind of outrageous in my opinion, and means this thing is by no means ready for the track straight out of the box. It has independent rear suspension, which isn't right for the class, and this is a class which is all about 'scale' so that was an odd decision.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's gonna be a great car with the right electronics, and some turnbuckles, but similarly, it shouldn't be crazy expensive.

Personally I like the looks of these class 1 buggies more than short course trucks.

Besides AE, it would compete with the Himoto and Ofna.  It is strange that HPI fitted fixed camber links, but they are easily exchanged with Ve8 pieces.  Although some people may favor solid axle design, for performance nothing beats IRS.  The starting price of $550 will come down and in time there will be a kit.
