That's a beautiful airplane, bet it looks great on the ground.

Not trying to sound disrespectful, but I would hope an alternate (simpler, bolder) paint scheme might be available for those of us with aging eyes that can't see pastels and busy paint schemes at a distance. Unfortunately, I have become one of 'those guys'. Like I said before, I am not criticizing the artist, only admitting my diminished eyesight....

Don,
I have been talking to BJ Park about that exact thing.  There are several options including just different colors but the same scheme or your own "scheme".  I have been speaking to him about doing the same scheme that is on my DeJaVu and he was willing to do it.  You can still process everything through F3A Unlimited.

It is good to know you ca customize the scheme. The stock color scheme is beautiful. I would prefer more lighter color at the bottom half of the fuse though.

On a different subject. The shape of the wing panels looks fancy. What is it called and what are the advantages?

That's the new DTFS design pattern wing.  It was designed to better handle the FAI sequences.  Supposedly, he's also releasing (or has released) this wing for the Nuance.   There's supposed to be a video of this wing on the Nuance flying but, I can't seem to find the right link to make it work.  In the meantime, here's some more information on it.....

The DTFS design was indeed new, in 1987, when Wolfgang Matt started using his Saphir. As I recall he told me that the wingtips improved snap-rolls and handling in turbulent conditions.

I'm not sold on the DTFS wing. I've heard from someone I'd consider VERY reputable that it caused some yaw stability strangeness, that he didn't have on the Nuance with the standard wing.

Doug,

I heard the same thing from the same source. We actually had a good talk about it. He was very curious as to my setup as he thought mine with the normal wings snapped better than he could get his to. What I'm curious about though, is if the canalyzer helps solve some of that, and maybe that is why this Episode has it. I'm very anxious to fly one when Chris gets his together soon.

I think the Canilizer is on the plane to add stability as Arch stated. You could still add stab fences to improve what the wing might take away. These planes are such a balance these days to get all the ideal attributes in one design seems hard to get.
I'd like to see the Episode made available with a wing option available. Mike

I noticed that in the earlier photos the stabilizer panels do not have a mid span fence.

What was the improvement observed after adding them?

Colin.

I was quoted a reasonable price for it.  My scheme is certainly not as complex as the Episode's.  BJ answers emails immediately (within 1 day due to time difference).  He's willing to do what you ask, at least he treated me that way.  If I remember correctly, he told me $300 ??  for the same scheme and different colors.  The price quote I received was based on a completely different scheme.

Unfortunately, no but not because of F3A Unlimited or BJ.  It's just a responsible choice being made for a father of 4 who has 3 kids in 7th grade right now and 2 playing football.

What is the thinking behind not having wing adjusters in these planes. Are they a o-o setup or is there incidence in it as it comes?
