Chris

I flew Krill model spark EVO,Oxai Peridot , X-Treme Altair 200, Toxiris(design by Gerhard Mayer),And after I try Nick's Nuance I decide that I will use Nuance for my next F-3A competition,It's really good flight plane and almost fly thesame as Peridot ,
Ofcouse it fly much better than Krill spark EVO ,Spark EVO can not "snap" but Nuance can do snap very well and beautiful.

OK,

I'll start posting some pics soon. I received mine today. I have a house full of guests from out of the country for Thanksgiving week so I won't be touching it until next weekend. You've all seen the pictures of the shipping crate, so no need in posting that. It's pretty well packed, I must say. The crate is small and very sturdy.

I'll post weights and pics of the structure. First impressions are that it looks really good. The fuse is much thinner than I thought. Its very tall as well. The built up wings are really nice, very light. I took a look at the glue joints inside and it looks like they did a good job (nice looking balsa as well). The finish is good, some flaws, but overall very well done. I really like the color scheme on the bottom of the wings/stabs. It's not an Oxai quality finish, but at about 1/3 the price it is close enough.

I'm anxious to get this going but I've got another project to complete first.

I decided to take this on after talking to Alex Shim and Andrew Jesky. I had no intention of getting this one, but I couldn't refuse. I'll try and post as much info as possible about it. It's R&D time for me right now. I've got the Nuance and my Contra Drive Visa to experiment with and learn P/F-13. It should be really interesting.

I'll order my parts and should be able to start building this one next weekend. My Contra Drive Visa should be done by then as well (finally got all my servos and parts yesterday). Good thing we don't have any contests for a while. I have a few months to play with new stuff. That's what makes this sport great.

So, I'll post pics when I get a chance and I'll give my flight impressions as well.

Steve

Chris:

Borrow some Nuance pics from RCTW.net in Taiwan for you. Pics were taken by Joseph Zhou during Taiwan Winter F3A contest last weekend. The last two pics are Z.C.Lin and his Toxiris.

Mike,

I really enjoy flying which is why i dont mind shovelling off the runway to go out and get some flying in, which is what happened today. Once you get your nuance going if you have any questions let me know I've gotten about 20 flights on mine so far and the only thing I'm working on now is just getting the snaps Sparkie like.

Here are the weights of my Nuance and a few pics I shot while weighing things. I'm almost ready to get started, just waiting for the brown truck to bring me some misc. items I need.

Rudder 45g
wheel pants, wheels & axles 50g
tailwheel 10g
Left and Right landing gear and mounts 135
Horns and Linkages pack 60g
R Wing 330
L Wing 330
Wing tube, stab tube, anti rotation pins 85g (wing tube 65g)
L Stab 70
R Stab 70
Fuse + canopy hatch 1080

That totals 2265. Not bad.

The fuselage is very stiff and light. The key is the balsa side panels used. Notice the lightening holes which have been milled into the balsa sides. This allows thicker balsa to be used and it is also light.

I also included a picture of the templates they included. Its nice to have the air inlet and exhaust templates for sure.

All in all, the kit is pretty nice. There are some rough spots here and there but nothing that I consider to be an issue. The only real work on this will be to install the motor. There are some templates online, but those are for a hard mount. I'll soft mount it so I'll need to do my own nose ring and rear mount.
