This may be a club of one, as I don't know how many MVVS engines are still used or collected , but here goes.

I took a few shots of my "Sunday Fun" 40 sized aircraft between flights this morning.

Powered by my trusty MVVS 49 "greenhead" with MVVS quiet silencer. Ultra reliable, can't remember when it last deadsticked.

Regularly used (abused? ) and flown hard for over four years, and still has tremendous compression hot or cold.

I feel the thing will never wear out. I have certainly received my money's worth.

So I don't get lonely, if you have an MVVS engine, post some pics on this thread!

They are certainly worth a "club".

Here is one I flew with yesterday, a Modela Junior 2cc RC diesel (early MVVS?), spins an APC 9x5 prop at 3500-10500rpm:

There is a entire support forum dedicated to the MVVS engines here, why would you suggest a club of one?

I have some MVVS 1.5 cc, 2.5cc, 6.5cc, 8cc, 10cc engines,  They are all great engines.

There is a support forum here for MVVS engines too.
Here are some pics of some of mine.

Wow .. great response.

The club is not to discuss heavy problems, or seek out where to find spares etc. Not to take away from the MVVS support forum, the purpose of this thread is to show other enthusiasts and glow engine users generally your examples of MVVS glow engines, (or diesels), and to have fun!

Hope this is OK.

Here is the .12 GFS glow engine. The cylinder is fixed to a side exhaust, unlike the .15 GFS/R engine.

OK group MVVS 15 diesels 3 09 diesel 1MVVS 40 -1 ( davis diesel head) MVVS 61-1 bought with diesel head and Davis made a few diesel heads for it , thats what I have on mine, sold the factory head,It appears MVVS does have occasional runs of the 15 both diesel and glow, quality and preformance a 10.
great carbs, my Irvine 40 diesel wears one IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE A RERUN OF THE 40 OR 49 MARTIN

Great feature you can choose either side or rear exhaust by rotating cylinder before running due to wear in thats where it stays ( 15 and up)

I happened to have a diesel head for the 10cc, 6.5cc engines as well as a 1.5cc and a 2.5cc diesel engine. You can see the diesel head in the background of the 10cc engine pic above.
Yeah Fiery had shown pics of his twin 1.20 earlier someplace here. I think it was a diesel too.
it was pretty cool.

Fiery's twin 1.20 MVVS diesel engine. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10478980/anchors_10561285/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#10561285

Guilty as charged . I have been distracted by other things

The engine is awaiting some concerted time and effort from me. I actually have the parts and just need to make up some gaskets, and I can put it on the stand.

We will then know if my "carbectomy" has been successful. If not, I will just put on a standard R/C carb of say 10 mm bore on it, and try that.

I see it's in good hands now...very nice...
Wish my "distractions" were as attractive...

The guy I got it from couldn't get it to run properly...gave up on it, and sold it to me along w/ some other stuff as a package deal...

I'm happy to see this MVVS thread - I just picked up a used H9 P51 150 Mustang with an MVVS 35 (2.15) gasser inside. Have not run it yet (have some work to do first), but it looks like a healthy engine. Don't know the age - the cylinder head is unpainted, so probably a few years old?

Hoping to have this plane tested in two weeks - will post results. Anyone else have an MVVS 35? Any operational tips? (In the ad for the plane the owner said it was an Evolution 35 GT. From my reading here on RCU it seems that the MVVS and the Evolutions are identical engines).

btw - with women like the one above holding that engine it's probably a good thing there aren't too many women into RC - SHE would be downright DISTRACTING!!

Have her in a short skirt with engine running blowing the skirt up over her panties and I would be impressed.  By her pain tolerance.

During the "Cold War" I sold many MVVS engines that I obtained from my brother who lived
in the former Czechoslovakia.  I sold over one hundred MVVS engines despite the fact
that I informed all the buyers that the enignes have NO warranty or service and parts are
not available.

I have the .12 Modela diesel with RC carb and muffler, and the .26 glow. I haven't run either one yet, and I'm curious about others' experiences with them. I know the .12 has a reputation for being very user friendly. The .26 is an odd size...more common seem to be the .21 and .28, all in the same case, I believe. Muffler on the .26 seems very small, so I'm concerned about the noise. I got a price from someone here on a quieter muffler for it, but didn't follow up because I started flying other engines and didn't have a need for the .26 at the time.

Maybe someone will inspire me to pull these out and run them.

Jim

Yes, I have one of those and that certainly is a reasonable price, grab it.

Hi guys, great thread!
All of the MVVS and Evolution engines that I have or have owned are gas and were fantastic engines.... couple were brand new, some used, ....some were just a little cranky to start.

I have been impressed from the beginning, so here is my short list...

-MVVS 35ifs gas (sold)
-Evolution 45gx gas
-Evolution 58gx gas (sold with plane)
-Evolution 80gx gas

my latest challenge with these awesome engines....
