Hi, it's been quite a while since I last sold my truggy on these forums and now I'm looking at coming back into the game. I'm still focusing most of my money towards my other project so I'd like to just throw a little bit on the side and get a good RTR or truggy roller and build it up. So like I said, it's been a few years since I've even checked these forums, what's the latest and greatest truggy out there that's actually worth the money?

Thanks guys!

Btw here's some pics of my current project

Good to be back.

Well, if you're a fan of the Jammin' products, I do really like my X2 Truggy. Well built and tough. It's a bit older and heavier than current top of the line models, but it serves my purposes. Stick an OS 25 in there and you're good to go. But before jumping into that pool, check local / US availability on that model and spare parts because last I heard Jammin' (Hong Nor) had disbanded their US operations/driver teams. Hong Nor is still available in my location, across Europe and Asia.

If I were to purchase a new one right now and had the local parts support for it, I'd go Mugen MBX6 T all the way. And I'd get the Clockworks modded OS 25 from RCU Member 'supertib'.

Welcome back to the fold and good luck.

If I were getting back into truggies, I'd go straight for the new Serptent truggy. It's the newest and coolest...

Engine - there are lots.. OS 25 would sure be nice.. But you can go cheaper than that.. Werks B5 for ex., or cheaper yet, Argus A52, Nova P5XLT, etc.. LOTS of engines to choose from..

My dream(but still realistic..) set-up:

Serpent Cobra-T, RB Fire 11 combo, 2x Savox 1258's(there are better servos, but these are good and affordable and really fast...)

Losi 8 or Associated 8 because they are really good and also highly supported. At the track I visit Losi and Associated are very popular due to parts availability plus they are high quality. Don't get me wrong now Mugen, Jammn, Xray, Serpent are also excellent machines but if they break it might be hard to find parts locally at a track thus my logic. OS engines tuned right are also highly relaible, not much of a fuss with them. Unfortunately I can't afford them, but i have seen them in action and they are awesome for being reliable.

if you don't actually drive it, the tamiya 801xt for $229 from tamiya's website....  it is beautiul.  ha.  but if you use it for its intended purpose and race it, i doubt you would find any parts, except on the internet, and i suspect they won't be cheap.
