There's another "smaller" one from Cmodels in Italy. They make nice and light models as seen at Jetpower

Looking very nice I just wonder how they are going to fair out with the weight and strength with such a big model this is going to be a different kettle of fish then what they are used to building at 1/4 scale this is going to as big as Vitaly's

cheers

Vitaly pushed every modelling/engineering boundary to the limit to get in under 20kg so I imagine this will be considerably heavier. 23-25kg dry would be my guess. Hopefully they'll be honest and not do the usual Chinese trick of advertising it as 19.5kg

Would be nice if it had the same scale details out of the molds though

Anyone got any close up surface details??

Rgds,
Mark

I checked against existing data on the full size - 114" long and 96" wingspan at 1/4 scale.

Under 20kg? - it will be tight...

Strange they went so big, dont know about the weight as vitality model also had a lot of scale extras and undercarriage, but I dont think their main aim would be for competition.

Would have thought 1/5th scale a better size.

Hopefully it will make good weight but that size and regular Chinese construction is, in my opinion, going to push it close to all the problem areas - 25kg in Europe, 20kg in UK, 55lbs in US etc

Jeff, any idea of RTF weight yet?

I had a few discussions about this Yak with JL since Jet Power. It would have total Airex composite fuselage and wings, so the weight will be kept minimum. It looks big, but the goal is to fly it with a 160-180N size turbine with weight of under 50lbs. Their goal is to make wing loading as light as possible. Bigger is better in this case.

I will keep you updated before I leave China for Thanksgivings. Thanks God, I am outta there.

Mike

Dave,

Every jet looks like a 1/32 size next to you. I will fly over Button Willow at 1:30PM, 30,000 ft+ hauling my Alpha Jet in the luggage compartment while you are down there. Don't fly too close to my KAL flight with your MiG 21 !

Mike,

Nope not yet! Same here got all the bits barring a few servos ! Shouldn't be long now Jeff said last sunday that mine is ready to ship just waiting for yours to be painted so they can ship together ! Not been too fussed as I had a big job to finish and a new jet at home would of tempted me into early finishes !
