I am going to buy a H9 P51 mustang as my first warbird. I have been reading here about the flimsy stock retracts and the modifications that others have made to rectify this problem.

I am new to retracts but before I buy something I like to do all the "leg work" first and I have a few questions that I am hoping one of you H9 P51 owners has done or can assist me with.

I have thought of going with the Robart 609HD mechanical retracts and installing some Oleo struts. My question is, which Oleo strut will fit this plane and would I need a heavy duty servo to pull these suckers up and down?

In my quest for information I have come across another manufacturer of retracts and oleo's called VQ (some for sale on E-Bay). Has any tried these, are they any good (much cheaper than Robart)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Status: online 		VQs are good but some of the oleos seem to stick , so check them when they arrive . Much better value then robart for the money
