I got the unpainted version of Bob Sweeny and our club pres.. did me the honor and painted it. He did an amazing job. BTW, the painted version from the website is $195.00 plus shipping..

Just ordered the new Robart Electrics the other day, should be picking them up early next week, can't wait to see how they work. As far as the gear doors go, I saw a technique on another thread, looks pretty fool proof, here's the link. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8454945/mpage_16/key_/tm.htm

Status: offline 		There are (4) 4-40 bolts that hold each wing panel on. I do not see how the wing can come off if all four bolts are secured correctly. Why don"t you ask your friend what happened? Did the aft carbon tube come loose or did the aluminum spar fail somehow? I feel at this point and time it has to be a human error on his part, like forgetting to secure the wing with the bolts or not tightening them correctly.

Status: offline 		Just finishing up the Top-Flite Corsair. I have the special muffler on order and should be here this weekend. Plane went together really well as most Top-Flite products do. Will post the final weight when ther muffler is installed. With the older and heavier muffler installed, 10 ounces of nose made the plane heavy. The old and bigger Jtech muffler weighed 9 ounces.

Let me give you a "heads-up" on that Bob Sweeny pilot we both have.
Great looking pilot.....but after about twenty fights in my GS TF P-51 he broke off his head by the shoulders and bounced around at a warbird show I was attending.
This did not make me very happy when I paid this much for a pilot.
The pilot is light weight and very thin in the neck area.
Had to take off my glued and screwed nice canopy and unscrew him from the seat back.
I took a dowel and stuck up in his head and sillconed that in overnight while upside down in my little vice.
Next day I used that expandable foam and about filled his body (light weight) with this and stuck the dowel down into that stuff.
Looks and feels solid now.
IF....... I get another new pilot I will cut a hole in his bottom and fill with foam, hopeing to enforce the neck area.
My plane uses a DA 50 with a well balanced carbon prop so that is not the problem.
