Hi Mark, Nice to see you have made a start. I have weighed all the components so far, less Batt, Rex, prop, spinner, 5lbs 10 ounce, the wings are glassed and primed the fuzz is yet to be glassed and primed, I shall be using a matt paint with a satin fuil proofer. I think it will be about 7lbs, but that is only a guess, hope it's less. If you use the tape you will need 3 rolls, I had to send for more today ( from the USA not cheep with the postage ). So today I did more work on the engine.

I had a call from a pal of mine informing me he was calling on me to see how the SBD was coming along. Phil Kent Is a scale scratch builder and he writes for Scale International along with two more British mags. So I put the SBD together for his approval, It was a bit small by his standards but with the washout on the wings he said it would fly OK.

This is what I use on the glass cloth, It's for concrete ponds to seal them, no mixing and you can clean your brush in thinners. The finish after two coats is very good with very little rubbing down.

Fred,
Lookin' really nice! You gotta be gettin' anxious and excited about now? What paint scheme are you going to use on it? Is that silver on the canopy or primer?

Fred,
Cool... ya don't see that one very often. I noticed that that's the scheme that Skyshark uses in their advertising. That should look really nice, can't wait to see it. Good luck with finishing her up.

Had a good afternoon flying my grandsons electric Junior 60 ( he's away on his holidays) The weather in the UK has been very good to us this year and today was no exception. After flying I came home and rubbed the first glassing coat on the fuss down, tomorrow one more coat then it will be ready for priming. hope the weather holds for a few more days, as I do most of my spraying outdoors (her-in-doors wont let me spray in the spare bedroom were I build) . 1/64 inch tape on it's way from the States so in a few more days and I may have some pictures to post.

Very nice Fred! It's great to see the SBD in that scheme for a change. I can't believe how quickly you have gotten to this stage! Either you're an amazingly fast builder or Skyshark has really put together an efficient kit design... probably both!
Can't wait to see it all done... be sure to give us a flight report too!
