Many thanks for that, I can only take a small amount of credit on Radio install all the rest is Ian.

The Pleasure is all mine

Cheers

DB

You mean you put the Rx in and connected the batteries!!! The video came out far better than we thought it would. Silvery grey Spitfire in a silvery grey sky doesn't sound like an ideal combination!!! Very pleased with how it flew and looked in the air, it'll be nice to get some more vid or pictures in a sunny sky!!

Ian.

Yeah yeah yeah!!!!!!!

Been doing some doodles and some research into the cockpit that is going to go in it when time allows. Plenty of space for as much cockpit as DB wants. Weight will be a big cosideration but we should be able to do something half decent. I would think about one of Ty's cockpits if I lived Stateside, but the cost of shipping to the UK makes it a bit pricey.

Have you seen Chad V's cockpit set?(from here on RCU) Its made to fit the BT spit, but it would probably work...there is none better on the market.

Ian nice job on the ESM Spitfire!
Do you or any one else know if the Spychalla turle deck conversion kit made for the Yellow Spit fir the ESM one?
If they are relatively close in the fuselage dimensions I will then have no excuse not the get one of these birds.

thx
Dave

Sorry Dave, I couldn't say whether the low back conversion would fit, it'd be an interesting conversion though. Casey, is there a thread running anywhere with details of Chads cockpits?

Ian.

Just thought I'd put a bit of an update to report the model is still performing very well, no issues at all. Actually I was looking for some info and it took me ages to find the thread again!! I'm amazed by the interest in the colour scheme, it shows up well and stands out very well compared to all those dull camouflaged birds

Ian.

Question for ya Ian, I was watching one of Ali's vids of him flying his big 262 and I thought I heard the announcer mention your name as a builder ....referred to you as the puppet maker I believe....was I hearing wrong?

No mate, your hearing is fine!! I make/restore puppets, marionettes, automatons and scale model aeroplanes for a living, not a massive money earner due to the time involved, but it keeps me off the streets!!! The 262 was a complete strip and rebuild of a previously flown model, new formers, wing spars, wing skins, fuselage top deck and cockpit, mountings and fixings for everything, plus changes in shape etc to make it look a bit more like the full size. Here's a few marionette pics to give you the idea. Off topic I know but its thread!!! There aint too many puppet makers out there! I wonder how many odd ball professions are out there in the aeromodelling world??

Ian.
