Status: offline 		Well, it finally happened.
After sharing our pond with various denizens of the deep, one of them tried to board a ship.
It happened so quickly, we weren't sure we'd actually seen what we had seen, but when the USS Franklin D Roosevelt returned to port, there was the proof. The attacker had lost several scales on the edge of the flight deck.
It's suspected the culprit was a juvenile mullet, known to leap when the model ships approach.
Previously, we'd struck sunbaking carp, but none of them tried piracy...........

Status: offline 		A few years back I witnessed a similar incident a few miles up the road from you (Lemon Tree Passage) when a small mullet dove ahead of a boat running at speed. Unfortunately for the mullet it was an RC airboat and there were many pieces of mullet thrown in the air. I believe I have a video of the event stashed away somewhere. Got to watch those mullet!!

Status: offline 		My square-rigger USS Constitution has been attacked multiple times by carp while sailing in a local manmade pond. It is very shallow and the keel almost touches the bottom, so it's probable I simply ran into them and the fish merely expressed their discontent.

The occasional non-scale "depth charge" would tend to control the situation somewhat.....not that I endorse dynamite fishing of course.
