Tim,

Thanks for the pictures.

I could hear your airplaines' engines while I was starting the long and  arduous task of raking and hoeing winter DIRT off the edges of the lawns ( whine, whine, WHINE).

Will be placing copies of the pictures in the "EVIDENCE file".  The EVIDENCE file is where I keep proof, to show my work associates, that you guys are CRAZY ( about flying).  :-)

Fortunately I was able to preserve a copy of the photo that was removed, before it was removed.  Hmmmmm . . . .wonder if that one would "go viral" on You Tube . . . . .

Regards,

Last Chance Airways

P.S.  Did anyone else see the 747 that made the low level pass ( 300 feet ) over the Lewiston-Auburn Airport.  It was AWESOME.

Oh no, I posted that picture and then noticed there was a crack in it, LOL. So I decided to get rid of it before the owner of the crack saw it LOL.

I herd the guys talking about the 747, evidently someone saw it. Must have been quite a site to see WOW.

I was walking out to my truck, at Formed Fiber, to go to lunch, as the 747 was making its approach.

I said to myself, "Self, that is  a 747,  Holy CRAP, it can't be a 747, BUT it is a 747 and it cannot land at that airport . . . . . ."

the guys at work did not believe me until the article in the paper the next day explaining that the 747 was owned by the airline that is restoring the Constellation, had refueled in Bangor, and was headed to Mississippi.

They got permission to do a low level pass to show support for the team that is restoring the "Connie".

It was a beautiful sight to see in Auburn, Maine.

Last Chance

P.S.  Joe Pobe said he was in his barn working on his airplanes ( of course), and it shook the whole building so badly, he ran downstairs and outside to see what was going on.

Thanks for the pix Tim If these guys only knew how much fun they missed.

Been working on my tan this weekend even got a bit of a burn at the field today.
The Edge lives and is flying sweet. I got in about 4 more flights today.
last flight it came in for as nice a landing as I have ever made turnend the plane to come back to the flight line and
I noticed the wheels were out of wack. walked over to the plane and I could see one bolt was missing
from the landing gear and the left wheel was trying to make a hard right hand turn.
that was lucky. picked up new #10 cap screws at the big box store should have them installed tonight.

Cant wait till next weekend!!!

I saw the 747 on approach over the fields along rt100.  I could believe it either.......is that a 747?  Yes, holy crap.  That size plane looked a little out of place over auburn.

Jeff and Jeffrey have certainly done a lot for the club with their resources and they, and their equipment, are much appreciated.

Charlie,  thanks for signing up for tables at Owls Head. A very good club turnout on Saturday.

I went with Joe Pobe and he took an AT6, a Hellcat, a ducted fan jet, and three helicoptors.  I took my Pulse 40.  Took Joe a week to pack and protect all that gear in his Explorer!!  There was barely room for us.

Talked to many about attending the open house and encouraged some to attend/enter the scale shootout.  Joe promoted the electric fun fly.

Other members there were Bob Henya, Bill Lairsy, Peter Flanagan, Joe and Andrew Healy, and Eric Guilmette. ( Hope I did not forget anyone.)  Andrew did indoor helicoptor demonstrations and Eric  flew some outdoor demos.  The first time in years that that was allowed and Eric was limited to 100 feet of altitude which made his routine difficult.

Had a great time at Hemond's Saturday, Tim, Carl, Charlie, Justin, Joe and Andrew all came out to play... Joe has a new Kantana with a G26 for power. Charlie was flying his 50 cc Extra, Carl brought out his Comp ARF Extra with a masive 3W in the nose.. sounds so nice. Tim flew his 30cc Yak and I had my 30cc edge.. Andrew and Justin were sporting Raiders for the day. Pretty nice day for the last day of march..
Tim lost a wheel on his yak, we found that the wheel from my RV8 would work in a pinch. after we got done flying we all went out to lunch at Roy's Burgers in Auburn.. Great time with great people.

Weather pattern looks good to get the field open soon... so get those planes ready to fly.

PS.. Thanks go out to Carl for obtaining permission to fly at Hemond's

Has anyone heard if we are doing a club field work day this weekend?

If the road is not ready, and we get permission I would love to do another day at Hemonds field.

Spoke with Joe Pobe today.

He plans to be there Saturday morning, with his trailer containing his portable generator and various power and hand tools.
