Curious. My 18 came with the single case. Where can I purchase a double case like this one?

So...The question??? Where can this double radio box be purchased with the 18MZ symbol on it?

Hi guys,

Very good question, even in Aussie where the 18's are sold in the double case, it is not possible to buy a new double case with the 18 emblem...... I would love the be able to buy one myself.

Cheers,

Jan

That case doesn't have the same dimensions. It is shorter.

Yes the dimensions are not the same, main difference is the split between top and bottom - the top part is much less, not a 50/50 split...

I just received my Futaba GPS unit and am having a blast with it and my 18mz. I set it up with a switch so it will read out my speed audibly every 5 seconds or my altitude every five seconds depending on switch position. So cool!

Gary,
I didn't think the GPS was available yet. Tower keeps pushing the date back. Is there any data logging on the SD card with the 18MZ? I don't see it in the manual but Futaba's manuals are never complete. Did you get your GPS locally module locally? Thanks.

I just ordered it at my local hobby shop. I have not seen any data logging on the SD card but that does not mean its not there. I hjust have not looked.

I just received my 18MZ and plan on setting it up with my Skymaster A-10. My current thinking is to use 2 7008 receivers to get 16 channels. Do yiu guys recommend a power system with this set-up? Anyone have pictures of a two rx + power system install? Thabks in advance.

Didn't you have an 18MZ and get rid of it or am I thinking of someone else? Not trying to start anything. Just checking if my memory loss is getting worse.

Yes, I did get one and then sold it. At the time I didn't want to spend them time converting my planes over and the dx18 seemed like a good choice. I've had 3 dx18s with defects so I decided to give Futaba a try again.

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess I still have some memory left.

On another note, the pdf that shows what feature updates are in this release discusses the timer vibration function . That's been in there before this release unless they added new patterns of vibration. I was hoping they would have a voice timer. Wonder why they changed the voice to a woman? I know they do that in full scale as they say male pilots respond better but I would think most men would just ignore it .

But if you are going to stick to Futaba, currenlty you have only 2 choices for power:

1, SRS powerboxes form Powerbox
2, Upcoming Smart Fly SBUS system

any other method and you'll need to run in PWM mode not sbus.

Here we go the inevitable Futaba JR debate fuelled by a JR troll as usual.

But the 18MZ has more ''power''... at least 1.2 gigawatts from it's orange flux capacitor.

and 1 week later low & behold.
