No need to really upgrade the radio, it comes with a 2.4 radio.

I converted my Savage 25 to brushless using the Mad beast motor mount and their battery trays. All i had to do was drill the holes to hold the batt trays. I dont know how different are the chassis between the 25 and the X, but it was very easy to do. Less than $20 for the motor mount and batt trays from NitroRCX.

Yes, because your LHS is willing to help you out if you buy your truck from Tower and your batteries from RobberyPartz

this may be a weird question to ask. does the hpi savage flux hp have a servo for brake/throttle, a servo for the steering?

no just a steering servo. the ESC controls the throttle and brakes

the only reason you would need a stronger servo is if you wanted to race it or something along that line

yeah if you want. it's all up too you. cause i think everything stock is a good way to start out, then if you think the steering could be stronger then go ahead and get a new servo

I have had my Savage Flux for almost 3 years now it is still completely stock. I haven't seen any reason to upgrade anything on it although the steering servo is starting to get more and more sluggish.

I want a FLUX HP , but guess  wasn't a good enough boy for santa. Lets see what tax returns bring me this year.
And I need a Savage xs for my daughter to run, she drives my AE B4.1 in large areas and does have good control for a 3 year old.

How to convince the wife????

Tell her you want to spend quaity time with your child and that matching savage's..Hence xs/little for her and flux/big for you is the way to do it
